After Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman’s campaign tried to blame its candidate’s humiliating debate performance on a closed captioning system “filled with errors,” Nexstar Media Groups, who hosted the debate, said that was a lie.
Here’s the statement from the Fetterman campaign [emphasis mine throughout]:
We are thrilled with John’s performance. He did remarkably well tonight — especially when you consider that he’s still recovering from a stroke and was working off of delayed captions filled with errors. John won countless exchanges, counter-punched aggressively, and pushed back on Oz’s cruelty and attacks.
Gary Weitman, Nexstar’s Chief Communications Officer, responded with this statement:
Both candidates were offered the opportunity for two full rehearsals with the same equipment used in tonight’s debate; Mr. Fetterman chose to do only one. In fact, Nexstar’s production team went to extraordinary lengths to ensure the effectiveness of the closed captioning process, and to accommodate several last-minute requests of the Fetterman campaign. The closed captioning process functioned as expected during rehearsal and again during tonight’s debate. We regret that Mr. Fetterman and his campaign feel otherwise.
It’s not difficult to choose who to believe here.
The corporate media have done everything possible to drag Fetterman over the finish line, including offering this closed captioning system. Moreover, this debate proves the Fetterman campaign and the media have been lying all along about Fetterman’s fitness to serve. He’s in no shape to be hauled around the campaign trail. He’s in no shape to debate. He should be resting and receiving intense rehabilitation. He’s certainly in no shape to serve as a U.S. Senator.

Sorry Gary Weitman of Nexstar but 'the press' will only cover the story that helps democrats. Even if that story is a lie.
I see wall-to-wall ads with some ebonics spouting thug imploring the urban slaves to vote Feta-maaaan. I don't believe he was ever in the lead, but man he is going to take a shellacking.
He tried. The people said.”Hell with him”! “We demand Lying Joe Biden rule over us”! “He is one of us!” It was done.

I think one of the stations had a screen showing the closed captioning in live time while the debate was going on. If something was going wrong with it, someone could find it in the replays.
And yeah, he wants to let murderers out of prison too... democrats love those criminals and evil folks who hurt others.

I thought the requirement of providing a closed caption device was done as transparently as possible. The monitor was behind the moderators so Fetterman could look at the moderators when they were speaking and the audience could see what the CC system was typing, so there was no question of “supplied” answers.
California politics have been completely destroyed by democrats and I guess it’s going to make it’s way to the rest of the country.
Goodbye, free and fair elections. Hello one party rule forever.
And what's really funny is... he's the best the Pennsylvania Democrats could come up with.
Well, how much hope can we have when we ALL saw that President Trump was up by almost 700,000 with 91% of the vote in and behold, the next morning he’s down by about 50,000 VOTES! By the way, if 91% of the vote was in and the other 9% went almost exclusively to Biden, did anyone do the math like how many votes were LEFT? You’re telling me that 750,000 votes were left and they ALL went to Joe BITEME?
