Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei said the Biden administration refused to provide Guatemala with the tools to deport illegal migrants heading to the U.S.
The stuning accusation came in an interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation from his presidential palace.
Giammattei told the DCNF that he’d requested that the Biden administration move its deportation planes and buses to Guatemala for the country to use in returning illegal migrants to their home countries before they reach the U.S.
He said it would save the Biden administration hefty costs of such large migration waves and allow migrants from far away places to go home immediately -- keeping tens of thousands of illegal aliens from swamping the U.S. border, as they have relentlessly done since Biden took office in 2021.
Guatemala hopes to deter such action by working with the Biden administration to deport them as soon as they can, said the President.
“Having all of these people in the United States costs the U.S. government millions and millions of dollars. We have suggested that they should keep the airplanes here, so that we ourselves can deport them back to their countries of origin, be it Haiti or be it whatever the country. If they keep their airplanes here, we can send them back. Otherwise, why wait until the people reach U.S. soil to then spend millions and millions of dollars to then send them back?” Giammattei said.
Why indeed? Unless the goal is to make sure they DO come to the United States without interruption.

I have a different take. Lots of folks think this is about cheap labor. There is a huge nugget of truth here.
There is also an enormous industry around “helping” these people. Almost all the $$$$$$ come from uncle sam, liberal charities and individual donors......who universally support libtards. It really is a giant vote buying scheme. There are no real metrics to determine if folks are actually helped. It is a simple count.....how many did we help. The numbers go up the dollars go up. It is all very simple. If you turn Texas democrat in the near future the national elections are democrat. Illegals soon become voters. Most odd is legal Mexicans (this white boy married to a Mexican legal national now a USA citizen the proper way) are both opposed to this.
