The soldiers, who say they are from Krasnodar in southern Russia, claim that after a month of being transported between different locations, they were dropped off "somewhere in the fields of Ukraine" with no radio, no ammunition and no medicine. They say they do not even know where they are.
The men add that they are living in holes dug out of the ground with their bare hands as temperatures drop to zero at night time. Two people are so sick they need to be hospitalised, the men say.
"There is no information, no command. We sit like on [tenterhooks], because we do not know where are our own [and] where are the enemy. No radio, no cartridges, no s***," one says.
They claim that their families even had to pay for their military uniforms and that they had to dig the holes with their hands because they were not provided with shovels .
"No shovel, nothing with us... We live just in the field... They bring some food, literally two times a day. We burn fires, chop trees, dig," one says.
It is just the latest information to emerge about the treatment of men mobilised by Russia to fight in Ukraine, many of whom have been sent to the frontlines without training.
British intelligence had previously indicated that Russian conscripts were being forced to pay for their own body armour.
Meanwhile in a recent video posted from the Stavropol region in southern Russia, a soldier displayed the kit he had been given, which included a plastic paintballing mask and children's gloves.
Some men mobilised just last month have already been killed and sent back to Russia in coffins.
It comes amid indications that the partial mobilisation of troops is UNDERMINING SUPPORT for President Vladimir Putin in Russia.

bs
I don’t get it. Those guys look warmly dressed and their hands are clean.
And somehow Telegraph correspondents get to talk to them, photograph them, and come back from remote fields in Ukraine to report about it. Something doesn’t add up.
Bastogne was colder
Fox holes... my father lived in one in France during the war. they dug one for 1 day or more... as he trekked across France after landing at Normandy... traveling wet and cold, the hole was warmer than the open air.
when they landed at Normandy, they were not the first but soon after... their orders were to get off the boat and run for your life to get past the germans upon the hill shooting at every person running.. some didn’t make it.
Orders were to not stop and help a fellow soldier... just run and don’t stop.
Today, congress and comfortable people here in our country... you have what you have because young men fought and died to keep this country free!! Remember that the next time you see the flag...Our country didn’t just appear out there one day..It was paid for with blood and fathers, brothers, sons...

It sounds like the accounts of those exiled to Kazakhstan by Stalin, except these people are in the middle of a war and they may get shot or bombed at any time.
Right? You’d almost think it was propaganda or something. 🤔
Is digging holes with your bare hands a sin? Cowardice? What? Because America soldiers have been doing that since the Revolutionary War.
Propaganda peddlers doing what propaganda peddlers do....
“Is digging holes with your bare hands a sin?”
No in context, these mobilized soldiers were taken without notice and sent without military weapons or supplies. The comment “digging holes with your bare hands” probably is “the last straw” for themto dig with no shovel in frozen ground.

Agree, very grim reminder.
I’m sure the Russian soldiers know that war is no picnic. They’ve been doing it for a thousand years. You must think Russia is like living in the U.S. of A.
“Bastogne was colder”
Amazing military history:
The “Screaming Eagles” of the 101st Airborne Division proved their strength, stamina and heroism by pushing themselves to the absolute limit while undermanned and lacking supplies.
December 22, 1944, German Gen. Heinrich Freiherr von Lüttwitz sent the US forces his demands: the only possible way to save themselves from complete annihilation was an honorable surrender, giving up Bastogne. He provided the Americans two hours from the time the note was delivered to make their decision.
It’s not clear how long it took for McAuliffe to respond to von Lüttwitz demands, but his response was epic. He wrote back to the German general:
“To the German Commander.
NUTS!
The American Commander.”
By December 23, the skies were clearing and the 101st Airborne Division started airdropping much-needed supplies and reinforcements. P-47 Thunderbolts took to the air and began targeting the German panzers.
Those guys look warmly dressed”
The article addressed your concerns:
“There is no information, no command. We sit like on [tenterhooks], because we do not know where are our own [and] where are the enemy. No radio, no cartridges, no s***,” one says.”
Their families even had to pay for their military uniforms

"1/ Russian mobilised soldiers from Krasnodar complain that they have been "thrown out like dogs" in the fields of Ukraine, with no information, no orders, no radio, no ammunition and no medicine, and live in holes dug out with their bare hands, as they have no shovels.""2/ Rough transcript/translation (with thanks to @altryne):"
"Dear our, so to speak, the authorities of the Russian Federation, the so-called Ministry of Defence, we are mobilised from the Krasnodar Territory."
"3/ For a month we were, like, being prepared for something, it is not clear what for, . We were being transported back and forth, . And now, it turns out, we are somewhere in the fields of Ukraine. We were just thrown out like dogs, here, really, in the fields."
"4/ No shovel, nothing with us ... We live just in the field, . No, no, they bring some food, literally two times a day. We burn fires, chop trees, , dig, what God sent, ... They gave us Kalash[nikovs] and bayonets, And guys, dig as you want, ."
"5/ There is no information, no command. We sit, , like [we're] on needles, because we do not know where [are] our own, where the strangers [enemy]. No radio, no cartridges, no shit. What is this, ? Our Ministry of Defence is so class."
"6/ We are all sick, no medicine, nothing. There are no medicines, two people are already [so sick] that they need to be hospitalised. Here they were treated, how to say, . With their own drugs, who has what, ."
"7/ Okay, now, at night, [it's] up to 0 degrees, and in the afternoon at least warm, , at least [it] warms up. You do not know what [projectiles] will fly from where, , because there is no idea where we really are. Information is zero."
"8/ Therefore, I would like to show our authorities, , who promised to recruit people for the universities, for good medical care, shouted that we have, that a person is a little sick, , he is sent to the hospital."
"9/ Then he is not sent anywhere, he lies in the dugout, , snarls blood, . Do you think this is normal? There is nothing normal here. There is a proverb, yes, a full soldier, dressed soldier, he is ready to fight."
"10/ So do you first, , distribute people who should be to the universities ... [We are] just like a guerrilla detachment."
"11/ We are taking scattered things. [Here is] what we dug out with our own strength. The uniform is bought exclusively by parents and relatives. Here three people live. You understand, right? Everyone is coughing. For 15 days already."
"12/ This is what is happening here. This is how our guerrilla Krasnodar detachment lives. Somewhere in the fields of Ukraine. Where are our people, where are strangers? /end"
