A convicted killer in Oklahoma was executed Thursday despite his lawyers arguing he was mentally ill and unaware of his imminent death.
Benjamin Cole, 57, was pronounced dead at 10:22 a.m. local time at Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, attorney Tom Hird told The Post.
Cole was sentenced to death in 2004 for the Dec. 20, 2002, murder of his 9-month-old daughter. CNN reported after the baby’s cries interrupted Cole’s video game, he broke her spine.

And if he was in a hospital, they’d use that condition as a reason to pull the plug...can’t make this crap up...
My daughter is the Assistant Oklahoma Attorney General who handled this case. The night before he was murdered, Cole’s attorneys file 5-6 more requests for stays, new appeals, motions and briefs. My daughter was up all night preparing and filing responses. She is now on a first name basis with both Justice Kavanaugh’s chief clerk and the Chief Clerk of the US Supreme Court. She was very unhappy. Especially since Cole has not wanted to appeal in the first place.
Gee, that’s too bad.
In the first place, he was not murdered. He had murdered. And of all people, he murdered his on flesh and blood. Justice was exracted. Justice , such as it was was executed. He got what he deserved.
He’s totally mentally incapacitated now.
OMG the story itself the bleeding heart attorney stating is this who we are, is this who we want to be?? OMG not a thought about that poor little baby girl her spine snapped because he wanted quiet for his video game!! UTTER SCUM I am SICK TO DEATH of the pity the people of this country have come to feel for these THUGS who are NOW running free in our streets because of MANY DA’s pity parties for them!! That poor baby!!
The dude is a monster for breaking the baby’s spine because she cried during his video game. The jury obviously did not judge him insane when he did it Whether he remained sane in death row or became insane, he is still a monster and his purported subsequent mental decline does not make him any less of the monster he is. He needed to be removed from the planet.
You are correct...not sure why I wrote it that way. he was executed for his crimes. I was barely awake. LOL. Forgive my wording.
He had also abused his other children by other mothers before he killed Brianna. And those were bad abuse cases themselves. He should have been in prison then.
You are forgiven. No problem. It happens to us all. Thank you for your responses.
Ancient history.
We need to move on.
Adios, mofo.
Just on a brief inventory I’d say you could use yourself a shave and a brighter disposition.
100%
Strap-in the lawyer, as well.
Those who support the “life” sentences rather than instant death, should be assessed a special tax that repays the state for said “life” costs. No offense.
Thank you. I’m honestly befuddled why I wrote it that way. I am a former prosecutor...and I handled death penalty cases. Actually attended one execution of a case I handled. And my baby girl followed in my footsteps, but she does death penalty appeals for the Attorney general’s office. She love it. She didn’t want to do trial as she loves writing briefs. So, she is no on the death penalty team at the AG’s office and has a bunch. We still have like 25 to execute and she has 6-7 of those. So she will be busy. But she was sure pissed that Cole’s lawyers kept filing crap all through the night and into the morning shortly before the execution. The ignored Cole’s requests to stop and just kept filing. She said the Clerks at the Supreme Court were not happy either. They too had to stay up all night.
Which is why forced labor should be part of the death sentence, get some use out of them, before they go.
I can dig that! Good point!
Sadly that is not allowed...”Cruel and Unusual punishment” you know. Oklahoma used to have work gangs that would work along interstates. There were guards on horseback with rifles and shotguns, but the inmates had to volunteer. It was more a publicity thing than for real work...but the public loved it. They stopped doing it a few years ago because of the cost.
