I used to be confident that the CIA and FBI were monitoring things such that no one could subvert our nation by exploiting our elections. Obviously I haven’t felt that way for a long time now.
We can no longer be confident that people running for office aren’t being run by operatives - both inside and outside our borders. We can no longer be confident that only those allowed to vote are voting. We can no longer be confident that vote fraud isn’t determining elections instead of the will of the electorate. With good reason, we can no longer trust the justice system.
There are no watchdogs anymore. They’ve all been compromised.
