Will GOP leaders betray us again, post-red wave?

It is all too likely our Republican leaders will betray us once again and will turn our Nov. 8 victory into a defeat.

It is all too likely we will once again suffer the "death of a thousand cuts" at the hands of our leadership – bleeding away the impact of electoral success and draining the life from our great movement.

Sen. Mitch McConnell will likely hold GOP leadership in the Senate; who can stop him? He likely will be erroneously credited with the success of new and MAGA Republican senators – even though he fought against the election of most of them.

Even though his leadership is uninspired and uninspiring. Even though more often than not he uses his power in opposition to both conservative and America First principles. Even though he betrays his base with clock-like regularity.

Republican leaders like Mitch McConnell are worse than Democrats. At least Democrats fight for their own. At least Democrats are loyal to their brand.

It is more than likely Republicans will also impose upon themselves a second defeat – by electing Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House.

McCarthy, too, will wrongly be credited with the Republicans' victory this fall, despite his Herculean efforts to prevent the election of any Republican not loyal to him.

The existing and newly crowned MAGA candidates will likely not achieve numbers sufficient to unseat McCarthy. Once again we will be saddled with an ineffectual and inarticulate Republican leader, one already long compromised by his donors. McCarthy will persist, however, absent courage, absent vision and absent the wisdom to promote the America First ideas of his new colleagues.

It’s a slow transformation in the senate, but consider a gigantic red tsunami could result in 56-57 Rs. Sasse is gone. Mitt will face re-election next cycle. Mitch can’t last much longer—I’ll guess these next 2 years are his last as speaker, if he holds on that long.

This senatorial season was touted as difficult for Rs, with several seats to defend—and few chances to gain— but the results look fantastic. The next senatorial elections in ‘24 are immensely more promising. Ds have tons of seats up and are ripe for replacement.

We will see the virtual end to stale R leadership and 60 Rs in the senate by January ‘25.

Hold on til then.

Yes. The GOP is a political party. It stands for nothing. It just wants power. It doesn’t serve you. It doesn’t care about you. Once you’ve voted for their idiots you have served your purpose.

Yeah, red wave is good news, but Doomers have to moan and groan in advance. Get it out of your system, then head back to your dark corner and eat more worms.

Worth noting that “leadership” in conservatism means working very hard to do nothing.

That’s right. Nothing.

Conservatism means opposition to government involvement in lives. A conservative leader should be trying to prevent Congressional action on things, as well as undoing government activity underway.

When have they NOT betrayed us?

On judges with Trump as President. That is why Roe is history and why real change can be made at the state level.

On tax cuts under both Reagan and Trump that greatly benefited the economy.

Do you really think the American people have the appetite for more impeachment hearings??? How about we fix the real problems facing this country like fixing our energy policy, getting costs under control...you know things that effect real people not the political denizens in DC.

It is time to remind Congress that they work for us, We the People, not the other way around. We need to tell them loud and clear what we want set as priorities...and don’t waste our time on political stunts that go now where or accomplish nothing.

Where is the video of McCarthy making Illuminati hand signals during a press conference?

Good points, but when President Trump submitted his bill to rewrite 0bummercare, the Republican House AND the Republican Senate let his bill die.

AND they played along with the demonrat RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA hoax!

AND they distance themselves from ANYBODY who dares to question the anointing of Bidenclown and its cabal of authoritarian, totalitarian, jackbooted busybodies.

AND they continue to pander to the “woke” blm, antifa, and lgbtqrstuv insanity.

count on the RINOs trying to sit there and do nothing for the next two years. Nothing is what they always do when they are in office. That is why we need to bag more of them in 2024.

It was always going to take a few cycles but we are going to flush the vast majority of these turds out of the party.

Next time we bag Newhouse, Mace, Pierre Delecto, and a few more RINO traitors in the House.

Thanks, your post tells it like it is. We control our destiny, yes we are human and sometimes we have to chose the lesser of two evils when voting. And a lot of times, probably closer to 90%, we end up regretting voting for the McCains, Romneys, the Bushs’, etc. What we sometimes forget is the reason we voted for those losers in the first place…the others would be 1000% times worse.

We must never lose sight of the fact we are the GOP. And we can vote these charlatans out and put somebody more worthy in the seat. As you pointed out, that’s what primaries are for. We dumped one in Washington State this past August, should have been two, but we still have some building to do.

Joe Kent sent GOPe Princess Jaime Herrera-Beutler to the unemployment line and will easily prevail is a couple of weeks in the general. The dimocRAT and the McCarthy wing of the GOP threw everything including the kitchen sink at Joe, but we have seen the dirty tricks before and it didn’t work. Joe is a FIRM no vote for McCarthy as speaker.

This is how it’s done and being done in districts all over America. We need more positive assessments like yours to illustrate and insure we keep the mojo and keep winning. We’ve allowed Freedom and Liberty to get punched around in preceding decades, no more, the service team is on the job. Now all we need are the battle scarred Patriots to dust off their discarded voter registration and get busy one more time for the Gipper and of course the Children.

Wrong Question!

The question is how many new Republicans we elect in 2022 will betray us and become part of the swamp.

Rubio, Cruz, Lee have all given into the swamp.

Here’s a better idea then getting revenge through impeachment hearings.

Since the January 6 committee was set up illegally (The Pelosi Congress didn’t follow Congress’s established guidelines for investigative hearings!) remove all sovereign immunity protections for its participants. In short allow them to be sued! Sued by the Jan6 protesters who have been denied due process as well as by others. Also withdraw all charges against all protesters.

Vote to withdraw the contempt charge against Bannon!

Only hearings worth doing are hearings on Humter Biden businesses and their connections to Daddy!

Do that and maybe just maybe you would generate enough outrage to get 67 senators to vote for conviction. (Not very likely!)
