An allegation that a voter was intimidated while dropping off their ballot at a drop box in Mesa, Arizona, as early voting is underway in the Grand Canyon State became the focus of a referral to the Justice Department.
The Arizona secretary of state's office received a report alleging the voter was accused of being a "mule" by a group of people near the drop box at the Maricopa County Juvenile Court on Monday, according to the complaint obtained by ABC15.
"There's a group of people hanging out near the ballot dropbox filming and photographing my wife and I as we approached the dropbox and accusing us of being a mule," the complaint said.
A spokesperson for the secretary of state's office told the New York Times it has referred the incident to the Justice Department and the state's attorney general.
The alleged voter intimidation comes days after an error caused nearly 6,000 voters to receive incorrect ballots for the midterm elections.
Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D) is running against former television news anchor Kari Lake (R) for the state's governorship. Lake leads Hobbs by 1.6 percentage points, per the RealClearPolitics polling average.
The Washington Examiner has reached out to the secretary of state's office for comment.
Hobbs hobbles and harasses fair voting -
Like saying I voted "early" if I go to the polls as 7:00 am on November 8.
Safe bet that this “complaint” was generated internally.
I would be annoyed by this sort of behavior, but not intimidated. Not sure how this applies. One voter, one ballot. I might feel intimidated if I was dropping off more than my own ballot...because its not legal to do so.
Um, did they each a a ballot of their own or did they have a pile of ballots in their hands?
If they each had A ballot, I doubt anyone would say anything.
On Steve Bannon’s War Room a couple of days ago, a woman was on talking about getting volunteers in Arizona to physically watch drop boxes to make sure people are not dropping in multiple ballots at different times, basically have human eyes on drop boxes to prevent what was seen in 2000 mules.
The minute I heard the goal of the group, I knew it would blow up into a federal case, I’m not sure it’s the same group in this story but is sounds very similar.
You can rest assured Garland will send the goon squad to Arizona to shut this down immediately.
“after an error caused nearly 6,000 voters to receive incorrect ballots for the midterm elections.”
What? I haven’t heard about this?
MSM: IF WE DON’T REPORT IT, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN......................
“alleging the voter was accused of being a “mule” by a group of people near the drop box”
This tells me they are conservatives, so GOOD, Mules need to be intimidated and know they are being watched close.
Um, did they each a a ballot of their own or did they have a pile of ballots in their hands?

Justice department has no interest in whether the person had multiple ballots. In fact, if they did, I’m sure they will do their best to white-wash that fact.
“Safe bet that this “complaint” was generated internally.”
Yes, so if I approach a ballot drop box, and there are fellow citizens standing around me watching and filming. I may say, “What’s up, is there some problem? What are you doing?”
And they respond, we’re watching the ballot drop box to make sure nobody is stuffing dozens and dozens of ballots in the drop box. My response is, “cool, keep up the great work!”
I mean, unless I am a mule, or am interested in the success of mules, or I am at the DOJ and want to use my official position to harass those who are interested in furthering the massive 2020 voter fraud that ushered me and my tin-pot staff into power.
Maybe there will be a special law to keep people a certain distance away from drop boxes and making it illegal to film what is happening at a dropbox. The writers of the law could claim that the Dropboxes are already being filmed. Of course such a law would not include that these films are almost never looked at. Even when they are, they have a high rate of being worthless due to the droppers wearing hoodies or facemasks or cameras aimed at the ground etc.
What is the rationale for dropboxes anyway? What is wrong with using USPS?
There is already a special law keeping people a certain distance away from abortion clinics. The penalties for violating this law are very high.
Was this during the current election now?
You can bet FNC will be pimping these allegations pretty hard. They’ve got to turn Arizona lavender one more time for their DNC masters.
Si........................
All the accused have to do to silence the group around the box is display that they have only one ballot each.
i do the same...
“A (one) voter?” Probably just a Biden Snowflake hallucinating again.
