and I am sure the British people were saying something similar about those hillbilly Scottish rebels up in the highlands way back in the 16th century, history just repeats the same old stupidity of marching off to war for the politicians to gain power

and the wars continue to scorch the earth

and since you don't agree with my observation of history, I suppose that makes me a non-conservative chompski commie in your mindset

this is why the wars continue, but i'm the lunatic for not gobbling up and digesting the propaganda I was fed my entire life

OK then

and I am not "defending Hitler"( the guy was an evil basterd just like Biden your hero) by saying there was financial bullying game being played that pissed off countries like Germany and Japan so the evil axis forces rebelled.

It seems like you are all sold out for Bidens war in Ukraine to protect his precious money laundering partner

so sorry to offend you, carry on with your war mongering delusions of reality

I just think its time for the human race to grow up and stop the fighting.

and the Nazis are Ukraine BTW

FYI, I meant to say Rose Bowl, as royal watching over there seems to be a national pastime.

I just finished reading it a couple weeks ago.

he wrote it for his own children, but it is very informative, with lots of trivia you are not likely to read anywhere else.

It also has his sense of humor and commentary so that it is entertaining as well as informative.

It starts at the Roman period and covers EACH KING and QUEEN in their own chapter, up to the American Revolution. He covers the politics and social situation at each era and makes it actually fun to read like it was current events.....................

she wasn’t very trussworthy.

In positions outside of the home where they generally belong, women rarely are.

God bless Winston Churchill, but I think America was what pulled England’s chestnuts out of the fire.

Truss' government imploded and she announced her resignation after a mere 48 days in office, which is the NEW all time record for "shortest term as PM of the UK" by a considerable margin.

(George Canning, Prime Minister c. 1827, had the previous dubious honor of "shortest term ever" -- he served 119 days on the job before dying of tuberculous. It seems unlikely Truss will hang around anywhere NEAR that length of time, even if the UK Conservative Party drags its feet in choosing a replacement. By all accounts, they're planning a speedy leadership race this time around)

At least she beat William Henry Harrison, as he dropped dead after only being President for 30 days, but that's U.S. politics so its not the same thing. If we're going by UK standards, she did last longer as PM than "Lady Jane Gray" did as Queen, as Lady Jane had the title for a week before she was beheaded.

Supposedly Bumblin' Boris was the "frontrunner" to get his old job back, but apparently BoJo announced he's not running.

I won't hold my breath expecting the UK Conservative Party to pick someone who is an ACTUAL conservative...

The whole thing (PM carousel) is an indictment of the parliamentary system, Tory MPs are a bunch of panicky backstabbers, only concerned with saving their own jobs. They deserve to lose but the UK does not deserve woke socialist Keir Starmer (Trudeau 2.0).

Other than supposedly caving on a visa issue Truss actually seemed cool at first, didn’t let Charles speak about climate change, supply side mini-budget with tax cuts. Then the pound dropped and the markets panicked (I guess they adore taxes) and her MPs panicked and she reserved the tax cuts, fired her Chancellor and appointed EU-loving Jeremy Hunt. And that caused her to reach Jeff Flake approval ratings.

Tory voters wanted Johnson back, but there was no way because he knew the MPs would backstab him again. It’s hilarious to me he was ousted over violating his COVID lockdown rather than for imposing it in the first place.

I knew Sunak was smarter than Truss but I supported her because of his record on taxes. Man....she’s no leader, I don’t want to say it’s an indictment of women’s leadership but.......Maggie was one of a kind. Sunak has only done one cool thing, reappoint conservative Sue Braverman as Home Secretary, after she quit over some leaked documents.

Now there’s a looming crisis with Africans boating across the channel.

Liz Truss lasted 4.1 Scaramuccis

What a marvelous new standard unit of time measurement. So we take the number of days in office, divide by ten and that is the duration in standard Scarabuccis. Marvelously expressed.
