Ukraine's Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate announced a reward of $100,000 on Saturday for the capture of Igor "Strelkov" Girkin.
Girkin is a former Russian FSB agent and a key figure in Russia’s initial occupation of Ukraine in 2014, when he led Kremlin-backed separatists to seize Slovyansk, in the Donetsk Oblast.
A former Russian intelligence officer who once boasted he had “pulled the trigger of war” in Ukraine, Girkin served as the leader of the Kremlin’s forces in Slovyansk in the first months of the 2014 conflict. Going by the pseudonym Igor Strelkov (which means “shooter” in Russian).
Girkin was also wanted by the Netherlands for participating in the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over Ukraine, which killed 283 people.

That’s more than you can get for 3 Russian tanks.
Hope someone collects.
Of course you do, it’s the standard modus operandi for neo-Nazi Bandera and Shukhevych thugs.....has been since WWII.
Girkin is a nazi. He arrived from Moscow and killed Ukrainians.
Got more straws to utilize in protection mode of the neo-Nazi Bandera and Shukhevych Ukrainian Kyiv Regime?
How much are they offering for Rand Paul and Elon Musk?
Two can play that game.
He looks very Hitler-esque with the ‘stache’.
US taxpayer money, as usual.
Of course, Ukraine broke as hell and still awaiting the IMF to loan them $20 billion.....
Sounds like Girkin is in a real pickle.
He shares a trait with Che Guevera.
“Girkin was also declared internationally wanted by the Netherlands for participating in the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 over Ukraine, which killed 283 people.”
“Documents found in Girkin’s Slovyansk office after he fled revealed that he had ordered the executions by firing squad of at least three people in Donetsk following hastened military trials. Girkin later admitted to sentencing three more men to death and killing one of them himself.”
And whats really hilarious is the Russian government may charge Igor Strelkov with "discrediting the RF Armed Forces," if they don't have him killed in action first.
Igor “Strelkov” Girkin has the honor of being on Putin’s most wanted list, and the Ukie’s most wanted too.
Yes, IIRC there is still an international arrest warrant out for Girkin over MH17.
If Ukraine nabs him and hands him over to civilian authorities for that purpose, then it will be more than just a propaganda win - it will reinforce the idea at the United Nations that UNLIKE RUSSIA Ukraine is actually, at state level, abiding by the international rule of law.
What that then does is distance Kyiv from the actions of “rogue” soldiers who commit war crimes.
Russia pins medals on the chests of its Nazi war criminals. If Ukraine is seen to be prosecuting them through a transparent judicial process, OR handing them over to the Hague, then it’s yet another thing where Ukraine is seen to be respecting international law and Russia is ignoring it.
Don’t get yourself all worked up.
Just about every combatant country has done something similar going back to Rome. Remember the US deck of cards in Iraq?
Pretending this is an outrage is kind of silly.
Always gets kind of ugly when gov’ts start offering bounties. $25.00 for Zelensky, $75.00 for Blinking, etc.
It’s already ugly with 14 million people displaced. And that guy apparently was instrumental in starting a lot of it. And directly killing prisoners of war.
Update for Russian Ops vs. Ukraine for October 17, 2022
- Russian forces are closing in on Bakhmut city - with even the Western media noting the inevitability of Russia’s victory there;
- Ukrainian offensives are grinding to a halt - whatever additional gains they make will be temporary and inevitably reversed as Russia prepares what appears to be a major offensive of its own;
- Western media is depending heavily on propaganda to paper over severe weapon and ammunition shortages in Ukraine and the implications it has on Kiev’s fighting capacity;
- The US is lashing out with an increasingly desperate tone as nations around the globe refuse to subordinate themselves and their nation’s interests to US foreign policy objectives - India being among them;
