Not necessarily. Even if Trump’s testimony is live, the committee will still control every detail. They will only ask him embarrassing questions, and they can rule him out of order if they don’t like what he’s saying.
Plus they can later find some minor fault in his testimony, then charge him with perjury.
Trump is naive if he thinks he’s got a sporting chance here.

um.. NO! that is the STUPIDEST thing imaginable. If he says ANYTHING except taking the 5th, they will charge him with lying under oath.
They CAN NOT agree to those terms.

The Chair can (and will) declare him out of order anytime he deviates from the script they want to follow. The judge and the prosecutors are the same people and will change the rules anytime it suits their purpose. I expect lots of “Answer yes or no” questions. If he pushes back, they will find him in contempt and use it as a basis for another impeachment. No way this goes well.
The only exception would be if he can use this to further expose the corruption in the Democrat prosecution against him while falling on his sword to allow someone else to benefit in their presidential run. But I don’t see him thinking that way.
Watch as they all of a sudden Decide it’s not as important as it was yesterday.
