More like completely wasted money and hardware down the Ukrainian sewer-hole.

The bomb drones are pre-programmed to fly to specific targets. they most l;ikely cannot be jammed...

That drone is navigating by GPS. Just how strong a signal would a jammer need to be able to block an incoming drone and how far away would it be effective?

Perhaps I'm making too much of stylistic sloppiness but this really jumps out at me -- The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been in existence for decades and is governed, in part, by things like Article 5 which authorizes NATO members to join in defense of other NATO members.

This article seems to speak of a different organization -- with the catchy name of Nato. This new Nato organization seems dedicated to fighting Russia no matter where they invade.

“When in doubt, escalate!!!”

What could go wrong? Wait, what was that flash...?

Who really funds NATO?
This is a proxy war by the CIA.

Quit poking the bear.

Russia has such wonderful allies...

Anyway, these Iranian drones are supposedly loud.

I’d think their acoustical signature could be detected, identified, and initially located with the right acoustical detection gear and software.

I even have a buddy who used to work in related areas (targeting by visual means and DSP analysis, but he has a strong acoustics background.) He’s retired in Switzerland, tho’.

By visual means I mean self-contained “eyes”, not a feed back to an operator. In flight, the missile does not rely on further input or feedback from the operator for targeting, deciding attack vector, etc.

Acoustical location can be a bit tricky depending on circumstances, but is generally easier.

“ More NATO gear headed to Ukraine. ”

Not a bad thing, especially in the case of these drones.

The writer is not well informed. The Iranian drones are not the main focus of the new antiaircraft equipment. The Shahed-136 drones are cheap, primitive and built to rely on civilian GPS navigation for hitting only stationary targets. They can be shot down, but the challenge is to do so cheaply.

WOW! Warfare equipment being supplied to Ukraine and it isn’t from the US. Amazing.
