Can’t say I’m going to lose any sleep over it. Slander the victims and you pay the price.

Understand the message: Dissent will cost you.

“Nonsense. He was allowed to mount a defense, but it’s hard to mount one when you do not show up for your court date.”

Haven’t been following the case I see.

They pulled the same trick the NY courts pulled on Trump. They claimed he failed to provide documents and studies for discovery THAT DID NOT EXIST. As a sanction for failing to provide these documents that did not exist, the judge then ruled that he was not allowed to mount a defense.

What you are referring to are questions from the plaintiff’s lawyers that Jones was only allowed to answer “yes” or “no” to. That is even when the plaintiff’s lawyer asked a compound question. For example, did you drink a beer while you were beating your wife and after you had kicked your dog? ie “questions” that assume things as fact which were not fact. BUT....as per the judge’s ruling.....IF Jones said some of the things in the question were not facts or did not happen etc he would go to jail for contempt of court.

So naturally and under advice of his own counsel, he chose not to answer.

This was a political show “trial”.

Did they move from CT to TX?

After the events, but before filing in CT?

“They claimed he failed to provide documents and studies for discovery THAT DID NOT EXIST.”

No, that’s what Jones tried to claim, but that isn’t the truth.

“As a sanction for failing to provide these documents that did not exist, the judge then ruled that he was not allowed to mount a defense.”

False again, and if it were true, then Jones would instantly win on appeal, but since it is false, he will not.

If you want to take Jones’ statements as the truth without verifying them, then that’s your prerogative, but nobody else is obliged to do the same, certainly not the courts.

“What you are referring to are questions from the plaintiff’s lawyers that Jones was only allowed to answer “yes” or “no” to.”

Don’t tell me what I’m referring to. You are not a mind reader. I am referring to Jones simply not showing up to court dates, which resulted in default judgements, as they would in any civil suit. And he did this multiple times. Choosing not to answer a question is not the same as failing to appear in court. One might get you cited for contempt, but the other is basically resigning yourself to defeat, and that’s what Jones did in multiple cases.

Well, now that the precedent is set, CNN should pay Trump 475 million, CBS, ABC, NBC 500 million each. in addition the FBI should pay Trump about 2 Billion, and the DOJ another 2 Billion.

Then a class action suit for the 75 Million people that voted in the last election and got election fraud instead, about 7.5 Trillion to us.

Just sock it to them! The door is opened, all we have to do is walk through it.

Lol…. So they don’t really want him to pay anything ever.

Indeed. Money that none of them will ever see.

Yes, and the other thing is, he didn’t just state opinions. It’s very hard to sue someone for slander over a statement of opinion. Jones made claims of fact, and those are much easier to sue people over, since you can prove or disprove a claim of fact in a court of law.

No that is the truth.

No, you're wrong again. You're likely wrong on both counts. He won't win on appeal in Connecticut given the massive Leftist bias of the courts in that state. He will win on appeal to the Texas Supreme Court IF they take up the case.

If you want to take Jones’ statements as the truth without verifying them, then that’s your prerogative, but nobody else is obliged to do the same, certainly not the courts.

I actually followed the case. I did not learn of what happened in this case via any statement from Jones. Don't expect the rest of us to buy the BS spewed by these politically biased Leftist courts.

Don’t tell me what I’m referring to. You are not a mind reader. I am referring to Jones simply not showing up to court dates, which resulted in default judgements, as they would in any civil suit. He provided reams and reams of evidence. He showed up for NINE DAYS of depositions. The plaintiffs went on a massive fishing expedition and the judge being lunatic leftists allowed them to demand ridiculous amounts of information in discovery - which Jones provided. This is the same tactic the NY Courts used against Trump except in that case the sanction was daily fines for documents that did not exist. The truth is Alex Jones handed over everything including things he did not have to and showed up for day after day after day after day of depositions. These politicized kangaroo courts then denied him his right to a fair trial. Then they held these laughable show trials. You can choose to believe these leftist lunatics if you wish. Don't expect anybody who is not chugging the Leftist Kool Aid to buy any of it though.

We do not have the rule of law in this country. We simply have lawfare. Act accordingly.

Not going to respond to your first 3, since it’s just a “is not, is too” situation at this point.

But this:

“He showed up for NINE DAYS of depositions.”

Immaterial. If you show up for 99 days of court and then don’t show up on the 100th, you have failed to appear, and the judge is probably going to issue a default judgement. The fact that you pretend to not know that default judgements were issued in some of these cases because of Jones’ failure to appear does not change the fact that this is exactly what happened, and it is a matter of court record, not something that is up for dispute or subject to your opinion. Have a nice day. At least you’ll probably have a better one than Mr. Jones will.

YOU, are a fascist. Find a dictionary and look up scammer. When you provide a product and people buy it, that is not a scam. Alex Jones is no different that Walter Cronkite, BabaWawa, the NYT, WaPo, Twitter or your local newsanchor or TV host. You just seem to not like him, it doesn’t mean he should be silenced in a country built on Free Speech.

I listen to him on a rare occasion, I am not a fan of him, but I like Tucker Carlson and this is aimed DIRECTLY at him. It just needs to make a few stops first. Like maybe a few podcasters, then Bongino, maybe a little Glenn Beck.

What a crock. Anyone watch that clown show? It was as bad as the Stalinist Jan6 committee “hearings”.
The judge was in the bag from day one. And, the lawyer should have been slugged.

I disagree and would say that its quite material. Far from being some sort of scofflaw, not taking his duty to the court seriously, denying the plaintiffs their right to a fair trial by refusing to participate in discovery, etc etc, the mountains of evidence he provided and the day after day after day after day of depositions he sat through amply demonstrate that he complied in good faith with discovery.

They furthermore show that the plaintiffs were using the discovery process to make completely unreasonable demands and were in fact using discovery to harass Jones. The fact that the Judge immediately went for the so called "death penalty" sanction of not even allowing Jones to mount of a defense also shows what a corrupt political charade this was from the start.

Of course, anybody who watch any of either of these kangaroo courts can see from the behavior of both Judges exactly what their political motivations were.

“The fact that the Judge immediately went for the so called “death penalty” sanction of not even allowing Jones to mount of a defense...”

Just blatantly false.

What actually happened was that Jones attempted to mount a 1st amendment defense, which is not allowed in defamation cases, unless you can first demonstrate that your statements were not defamatory, at which point, the whole matter is rather moot. This was not some special restriction placed on Jones; it is common to every single defamation case in every court in the country. He was rightfully barred from this line of defense, and he could not offer a proper defense against the defamation claim because, well, he had broadcast all of his false and defamatory statements to the world and those statements were easily demonstrated to be false and defamatory. So the only point on which Jones had left to rest his defense was to try to prove that the statements were not KNOWINGLY false. He painted himself into that corner, nobody else did.
