Bronx man who smashed up Manhattan McDonald’s with ax is busted again

The man who went on an ax-wielding rampage at a Manhattan McDonald’s has been busted again — this time for allegedly spraying-painting graffiti in Brooklyn and then swiping a pricey bike to try to flee cops.

Michael Palacios — who was caught on video smashing up the crowded fast-food joint on the Lower East Side during a beef with other patrons in September — was approached by police around 5:40 p.m. Sunday after he was seen spraying graffiti behind 69 Second Ave. in Gowanus, according to police sources.

The 31-year-old messenger ran and snatched a bicycle from in front of a coffee shop and tried to ride off before he was detained, sources said.

The blue bike, valued at $3,500, was damaged in the chase, sources said. Palacios of Manhattan was found in possession of graffiti paraphernalia at the time, according to sources.

While he was in custody, police also blamed Palacios for a graffiti incident in June at the Broad Channel subway station in Queens, sources said.

Palacios was charged with grand larceny, two counts of criminal mischief, possession of stolen property, making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments. In connection with the summer graffiti incident, he was charged with additional counts of making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments.

Anyone spray-painting graffiti (other than political statements) has the mindset of a teenager. This guy is 31 years old.

It's a sick lottery, figuring out who's going to be his first maiming or murder victim.

A few weeks ago, this man was swinging an ax around a McDonalds. This week, he stole a bike and graffitied a building in Brooklyn. In both instances, he was released hours later! New York must get tough on crime, repeal cashless bail and fire DA’s who refuse to enforce the law. https://t.co/tRUdCUnIyy— Lee Zeldin (@RepLeeZeldin) October 11, 2022

Looks like a private citizen will have to step in to keep him
from killing innocent people.

What a disgusting situation.

What the Democrats can't admit is that they have to let all these criminals go.

These Blue cities are bankrupt. They can't hire enough junior prosecutors nor public defenders. If one is guaranteed the right to a public defender and there's a severe shortage of them, the accused cannot be put on trial.

They had to get rid of cash bail, not for "equality" or any such nonsense but because the accused has a right to a speedy trial. Without the junior prosecutors and their staff, it's not going to happen.

In New York City they might not be able to seat enough juries either due to non-citizen populations, citizens with criminal records, and COVID-1984 fears.

"Defunding the Police" was a two-fold strategy; save money on the public payroll (firemen already merged with EMTs) before cutting teachers, and also to arrest fewer criminals because the bankrupt city can't bring them to trial anyway without public defenders nor junior prosecutors and their staff.

The failed Blue cities can't publicly state the reasons for refusing to charge criminals because the bond ratings will crater, forcing the city to pay even more to borrow money. People and companies will move; they'll be aware it won't get any better and the higher bond costs will increase the debt burden.

The stolen election of 2020 was to force Red states to bail out failed Blue states and cities.

And that person will probably be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and won’t be granted bail and be treated like the J6 prisoners

I was mistaken, thinking he had been caught with axe again.

Someone will wind up dead.

I meant for my comment to apply to a citizen/vigilante that dealt with this scum and that person would not be released like all the common criminals now are.

That’s not what I prefer, but I’ll tell ya, the government
folks are not helping us. We’re essentially on our own.

I understand where you are coming from.

RE: Looks like a private citizen will have to step in to keep him

What a disgusting situation.

Tragic how the lack of a working honest system of justice with fairness equally for all (not ours now) means people have to sacrifice their lives to solve this. That’s what law enforcement and the judicial system used to do. Used to.

After all the rights granted to the GUILTY (under the alias of “suspect”) the innocent people are at risk for their lives.

“Jury will not be allowed to hear of the past crimes of the defendant.” “Juvenile convictions and time served are expunged at age 18 (or 21)” “Defendant was not fully Mirandized before he made self incriminating statements.Confession is not admissable.” “The witness list must be presented to the defense attorneys.” “Prisoner will be released due to crowding.”

It is a mess.

I do think I set this guy up a bit though. The first time
with the axe was bad, but he didn’t do that the second
time like I thought he did.

Still, you never know when one of these guys will go off.

Who carries around and axe? Good grief...
