Ukrainians are celebrating and posing next to a giant postage stamp depicting the Crimea bridge explosion on Saturday that severely damaged the sole road route from Russia to Crimea.
An explosion damaged the 12-mile Kerch Straight Bridge, which has been an essential supply route for Russian forces invading southern Ukraine, according to Reuters. Russian officials said a fuel tank explosion at about 6 a.m. on Saturday left a portion of the bridge collapsed, though parts of it have since reopened to traffic.
In Kyiv, Ukrainians celebrated by posing with an oversize postage stamp depicting the bridge explosion.
Though the country has not taken credit for the explosion, some in Ukraine hinted that the timing of the explosion coincided with Russian President Vladimir Putin's 70th birthday. The bridge was a proud symbol of his illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, according to The Washington Post.
The leader of Ukraine's postal service tweeted Saturday that "coming soon," the agency would issue a new stamp that says, "Crimean Bridge - Done."

The bridge was not blown up. Some tarmac was damaged and repaired in a few hours. 3 people died including the saboteur. Bridge was reopened the next day. BTW the fire was some train cars carrying petro.

Given the photos in the article were taken on the same day of the explosion, this supports my contention that Ukraine expected their truck bomb to do more damage than it actually did, and wanted something to commemorate the occasion for propaganda purposes.

Some reports indicate that Russia’s cruise missiles were moved, programmed and made ready to launch before the Dear Leader celebrated his birthday. Almost as if they were expecting a convenient provocation.

No, damage was much more than than something repairable in a few hours. Several spans were “dropped” reducing the bridge’s overall capacity considerably. That will take a significant time to repair.
Two spans were dropped on two lanes of the four lane auto bridge.
Traffic is now restricted to the other two lanes and one way.
The Railway bridge is apparently not seriously damaged by the fires. An engineering analysis is not complete
Meanwhile, Putin’s ass will be kicked out of the occupied territories because Russia lacks the military strength to resist.
Launching a sophisticated PR campaign, complete with people taking selfies in front of a slickly-produced “giant stamp”, doesn’t strike me as the behavior of people who we are told are in a minute by minute struggle for their survival.
