Covid death rates are higher among Republicans than Democrats, mounting evidence shows
NBC News / Comcast ^ | October 6, 2022 | By Aria Bendix (D-NBC)

Lower vaccination rates among Republicans could explain the partisan gap, but some researchers say mask use and social distancing were bigger factors.

Covid deaths are unevenly distributed among Republicans and Democrats.

Average excess death rates in Florida and Ohio were 76% higher among Republicans than Democrats between March 2020 and December 2021, according to a working paper released last month by the National Bureau of Economic Research. Excess deaths refers to deaths above what would be anticipated based on historical trends.

A study in June published in Health Affairs similarly found that counties with a Republican majority had a greater share of Covid deaths through October 2021, relative to majority-Democratic counties.

But experts are still puzzling over why these differences exist. Are lower vaccination rates among Republicans responsible? Or did mask use and social distancing guidelines prevent more deaths in counties run by Democrats?

The Yale researchers behind the new working paper say vaccine hesitancy among Republicans may be the biggest culprit.

"In counties where a large share of the population is getting vaccinated, we see a much smaller gap between Republicans and Democrats," said Jacob Wallace, an author of that study and an assistant professor of health policy at the Yale School of Public Health.

Because not enough people are willing to identify as Republicans in those places.

The study is age-normalized. They looked at excess deaths by age group.

I’ll bet it killed a HELL of a lot more democrats here in California than it did Republicans.

Of course there aren’t a hell of a lot of us Repubs left in this shithole!

The global number clearly indicate that Communist Party members are far more like to die of COVID than Republican Party members!

(Hint: Because China has a population of 1.5 billion!)

How do they determine the political affiliation of the Covid dead?

“The Yale researchers behind the new working paper say vaccine hesitancy among Republicans may be the biggest culprit.”

Proof positive that vaccine mandates were aimed directly toward persecuting Trump supporters.

Yes, It is all age related and even then the numbers are very questionable if you look at it by county, e.g. LA County (heavy Dem) had 3 x the death rate of Orange County (GOP)

Blacks and Hispanics (heavy Dem) had much higher death rate than whites

It is convenient for ‘some’ to take anecdotal experienced data and classify higher death rates as ‘possibly related to vaccine hesitancy’ and it is perfectly okay and ‘scientific.’

YET! When the same type of data is taken for a subset (e.g., mRNA vaccinated) of heart-related deaths in certain age groups (say 18-49) and assessed and classified similarly it is ‘scientific heresy’ and is banned from social media.

The truth? We’ll never know because the Pharma/FDA trials were incomplete (purposely shortened?), altered? HIDDEN?

Pure BS from another liberal shxthole.

From the Yale Daily News:

Yale Needs to Stop Accepting Republican Students

Lily Rogers
1:55 am, Apr 13, 2018

Republicans are single-handedly destroying the Yale community. They do not offer anything substantial to our campus. They are all racist, bigoted, homophobes, whose mere presence serves as an unwelcome reminder that Donald J. Trump is our president. The very idea that there are Republicans lurking among us is truly disturbing and offensive.

Re: "Covid deaths are unevenly distributed among Republicans and Democrats..."

Why? Because, the median age of Republicans is significantly higher than the median age of Democrats.

Age is the most significant and most obvious risk factor for Covid fatalities.

Both studies are also flawed by not adjusting for the Age/Vaccination rate.

Here in Washington state, 90% of persons age 65+ have been vaccinated at least once.

Since 80% of Covid deaths in Washington state are in the 65+ age group, the first thing I notice is that the Covid vaccine is almost useless, and possibly harmful, for elderly people!

All of them.

Could it be that most Republicans still had their jobs and continued to work throughout this plandemic while Democrats cowered in their homes, waiting for Uncle Sugar to take care of them...more exposure would NECESSARILY lead to MORE DEATHS!

Not to mention, more Republicans are over the age of 60 than Democrats (it is hard to remain stupid enough to be a Democrat that far into your life)!!

" The study is age-normalized. They looked at excess deaths by age group. "

I did not see that in the NBC summation. The study itself states,

Both groups experienced a similar large spike in excess deaths in the winter of 2020-2021. However, in the summer of 2021 — after vaccines were widely available — the Republican excess death rate rose to nearly double that of Democrats, and this gap widened further in the winter of 2021.
Political party affiliation was associated with excess death rates at the individual level during the initial years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Registered Republicans in Florida and Ohio had higher excess death rates than registered Democrats, driven by a large mortality gap in the period after all adults were eligible for vaccines. These results adjust for county-by-age differences in excess deaths during the pandemic, suggesting that there were within-age-bycounty differences in excess death associated with political party affiliation.
