A powerful truck explosion seriously damaged Russia’s road-and-rail bridge to Crimea on Saturday, hitting a prestigious symbol of Moscow’s annexation of the peninsula and the key supply route to Russian forces battling to hold territory captured in southern Ukraine.
The blast on the bridge over the Kerch Strait, for which Russia did not immediately assign blame, prompted gleeful messages from Ukrainian officials but no direct claim of responsibility.
Russian investigators said three people had been killed, probably the occupants of a car traveling near the truck that blew up.

For months now analysts have been speculating that Ukraine has been leaving this bridge intact to offer Russia a retreat route. Putin’s recent mobilization has taken retreat off the table, so the bridge is becoming more of a liability than an asset.

Great shot—the train fire was extinguished and there is telegram footage (now night over there) of a train going over the section. Track was OK, the cars not so much with the incendiary pieces flaring onto wooden cars.

Not even close to the mark. its been a long-standing law of warfare that an enemy’s logistics is a legitimate target during a war, and it doesn’t matter if it is Ukrainian or Russian territory. I find it outrageous that the Putin fans believe that Russia can attack Ukrainian infrastructure at will but it is somehow an “escalation” if Ukraine returns the favor.

And of course, the Russians have already analyzed core samples from the damaged areas and compared to undamaged area samples... Also working into the night taking X-rays of the rebar. Working the core drill on the underside was a thrill a minute.

You can see that the piece of 2 lane road in the sea is cleanly broken away from the other 2 lane road that it was next to. That is probably why it was not badly damaged. Now it might have some kind of heat damage on further study. The ball of fire moved upward to the rail road and set fuel tank cars on fire. There are 2 sets of rails, and apparently the other set is working at least for passenger trains. More study will probably be needed for heavy military loads.
Based on other news videos I have seen, this is a photo of a helicopter dropping water on the burning train and some of it falling into the sea.
