PORTLAND, Ore. — Researchers at John Hopkins studied how gun violence impacts Oregonians, just in time for a gun safety measure to hit the November ballot.

Next month, Oregonians will see Measure 114 on their ballots.

According to the John Hopkins study, there were nearly 600 gun deaths in Oregon and almost 40 were children and teens.

Research shows that 77% of those deaths were from suicide.

The study also showed that men were nearly four times more likely to die from gun violence than women and seven times more likely to die by firearm suicide than women.

Suicide isn’t good, but as long as it isn’t murder/suicide, the harm is limited.

So, let the left make this a capital punishment crime.

That figures. It is a leftist-controlled state, after all.

The “gun violence” narrative has always been built on a lie. Law-abiding gun owners are not going berserk and killing strangers or their neighbors.

Criminals break the law. Any law.
Desperate people kill themselves.

More laws against guns won’t change these facts.

And, by the way, the Left might oppose guns because “they make suicide easier” but the Left will simultaneously push for Euthanasia for people who have given up on life.

What a BS article-—they state children and TEENS! Most likely gang violence, which are illegal guns. Next is suicide——Japan, France and Iceland have higher suicide rates than the USA-—and they have very, VERY strict gun laws or bans.

I’m so sick of lying propaganda ...I don’t care about the lying “facts”. To ban or limit guns is illegal.

Fentanyl deaths >>>> gun deaths. So let’s make ourselves feel good and deny women and senior citizens the right to defend themselves.

Liberal ãsshole.

We have a high bridge in town that sees some suicides. Also a high cliff an hour away, if you feel like a last drive. One guy was walking to the peak of the bridge and lost his nerve, so he jumped in front of a dumptruck.

”Suicide isn’t good, but as long as it isn’t murder/suicide, the harm is limited.”

Not as limited as you might think.

I think it was here in California somewhere that a young person sitting at a table decided to commit suicide with a handgun. The round went completely through their head and killed a person standing next to the table.
