Petraeus: Putin is ‘literally out of moves’

Former CIA Director and retired U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus said in a new interview that Russia can still inflict destruction upon Ukraine, but Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot reverse Ukrainian gains in the four regions Moscow recently annexed.

“I think he’s literally out of moves,” Petraeus told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble.

And another Freeper just posted an article that said Zelensky is out of moves. So shall we call this idiotic chess/checkers match a draw and move on? And stop spending gajillions of non-existent US dollars on it?

Not likely.

Wonder if Ukraine (USA) will go all the way to Moscow and take out Putin? Seems like it should be easily doable now.

No, more like you don’t like analysis of the situation that you don’t personally agree with.

Putin is ‘literally out of moves’

Well it might come as a shock to some, but Princeton educated Petraeus mangles the English language-literally does not mean what he thinks it means. Putin has lots of moves. He could launch a hypersonic strike on Petraeus's house for instance. Or polonium or ricin. Or he could nuke a marshalling yard in Poland, or he could use the massive force he has been marshalling and use it in Ukraine, or....

There are always dozens of next moves in war, just like chess. The king is not dead yet.

Allow me to refine my remark - taxpayers may grow restive if they aren’t constantly assured their hard earned dollars being sent abroad aren’t being simply being pilfered by the ruling elite.

It won’t be long, China and Iran and Syria will start engaging in a proxy war with the USA...

What else can you expect when we have the weakest, most feckless president in US history?

Whose strategic skills would be considered superior:

A disgraced US General from an US military establishment that hasn’t won a war in his lifetime …or Vladimir Putin?

Decisions decisions

There is always the “Fck it move”

The suicide by mutual nuclear holocaust move. But that would mean that Putin is the sicko mad-man CIAMI6 keep telling us he is.

We are in a deadly game driven not by morals or rules or legalism, but by the logic of geostrategic imperatives of which culture is a huge piece. Our right to dominate the debate because of our moral superiority has brought us to a crisis point. We can each go our own way, or we can mutually destroy ourselves, but I think much of the world has decided the US is not going to dictate terms to the rest of the world any longer.

Which means we need to stay on our side of the fence - and not lie and fudge about where the fence really is.

Why are socialists and RINOs so infatuated with needless human slaughter ?

They’re disgusting, aren’t they?

And any talk of a negotiated peace settlement really makes them mad. They get even nastier than they usually are.

You can tell that Ukraine is clearly winning the war based on the way that Russia is winning the war.

Makes no sense?

Neither do the counter narratives.

Somewhere is the truth.

We aren’t gonna get it with our media.

I do believe that Putin has been boxed in politically. Not so much on the battle field.

“Nations will not continue to pour money into Ukraine unless they think they’re getting something for their money.”

Let’s say America and other nations are supporting Ukraine because it is exposing Russia as weak and becoming weaker, and the conflict may end with Ukraine’s borders intact.

Let’s say it ends with Ukraine’s borders intact. What’s that worth to America and the other supporting nations? I truly don’t know.
