… Now the race is on to fix the vital pipelines before winter—if that’s even possible. The Swiss-based joint venture behind Nord Stream, which is 51% owned by the Russian state energy firm Gazprom, is uncertain whether the issues will ever be fixed….
…The steel Nord Stream pipes are 1.6 inches thick, with up to another 4.3 inches of concrete wrapped around them. Each of the 100,000 or so sections of the pipeline weighs 24 metric tons..ll
… Once investigators can safely get hands on, the tricky work of triaging the problems and finding solutions begins. “You assess: ‘Okay, what is the state of the pipe? What are the damages?’” says Jean-François Ribet of the Monaco-based oil and gas pipeline repair company 3X Engineering, which has previously repaired pipelines in Yemen that have been sabotaged by the likes of Al-Qaeda. That assessment can be done using an inspection robot, a remotely operated vehicle, or specialized divers. …
… Sending divers to the site is challenging because of the depth of the pipeline: while the known leaks are concentrated in relatively shallow waters—around 50 meters deep—the majority of the pipeline lies 80 to 100 meters underwater. And all of it will need to be inspected for potential damage.
“We’ve done repairs at that depth, but you have to use saturation diving,” says Olivier Marin, R&D and technical manager at 3X Engineering. (In saturation diving, which is used for deep-sea conditions, divers remain at the extreme depth in a specialized habitat and undergo a single decompression once the operation is over.)…
… The repairs themselves would not be easy. There are a number of options, says Ribet. The first is to replace the damaged sections of the pipe in their totality—though that’s the costliest.

Thanks for the link! Corrosion was my first initial concern regardless of the “how” to repair. Unless the steel is T316 stainless, it will corrode quickly in salt water.
You are directing all that at the wrong person/wrong post.
Just so you know.
BTW, anyone who sees ANY “news” on TV is undergoing conditioning. Conditioning connects with the subconscious and your conscious mind cannot protect you, other than when you consciously decide to NOT WATCH OR LISTEN. Apparently you have been conditioned into hopelessness.
DO NOT REPAIR.
OPT FOR US GAZ BROUGHT IN BY SHIP.
It will start to happen big time in 2024.
Its just the NWO that wants the repair.
Klaudia Schwab and his NWO Schwingers want to make Europe dependent on Russian fuel.Ask yourself why THAT is!
Exactly.
They TELL us their VISION they plan for us. TELL-VISION.
Diabolical, true.
bkmk
The pipeline owner of course.
I can’t open your Nord Stream link, but I was just going to put up a different link to the same video, I think. not perfect and, like many, the guy still seems to think it’s one pipeline that is blown up four times - when there are two pipelines, four explosions. even so, it’s the most interesting analysis I’ve seen to date.
from 5mins in to about 25mins is the interesting stuff.

The pipeline owner of course.
Yes, of course, much in the same vain as the Russians shelling themselves in a nuclear power plant, huh?
At any rate, time will tell, if ever.
>>”Or option 5, abandon the pipeline entirely. Quit buying product from Russia.”<<
Sure sounds like you and Tony Blinken are proud of conducting an underwater covert energy “Pearl Harbor” which may result in the deaths of thousands of Germans, and throw their economy into a great depression.
At least when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, they did it in the open, flying clearly marked Japanese planes.
There is no honor in conducting an underwater sneak attack that hurts your own “allies” and then blaming the sneak attack on a third party. No honor at all.
It’s the act of total villainous scumbags.
But you and Blinken sound proud of it.
If there is anything but ashes left...
“Everyone except Russia believes it’s sabotage by the pariah state...”
Assuming that “pariah state” means Russia, just who is “Everyone”. Certainly not China or Poland, I don’t think India, and likely not even enough countries to be half of the world. I’m not sure if even the United States has claimed it’s Russia...the cabal running this country did have plenty of chance to blame Russia, but seemed more interested in celebrating the Cold Shower that Europe is now undergoing to get off of fossil fuels.
So, are we supposed to just ignore blatant lies, because the Democrats tell us to hate Russia? I guess.
Seems the industry, in the past, favors option 4. Can’t be sure how far out the “failure” may have caused micro damage to the metal.
“...however, what’s to prevent another act of sabotage to a repaired pipe?”
If Russia is able to get the undamaged part operating and starts delivering gas to Europe, then Russia would have to blow that up too, at least according to the ‘logic’ of the Ukraine Cheerleaders.
>>”My main near term interest is the detailed FORENSIC CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS that the Swedes and Danes will presumably be conducting.”<<
Me too. I just hope it’s an honest investigation, and not fixed.
Not another “FBI investigates what went wrong at Waco.”
You didn’t read the article.
MIT folk did not make suggestions. A Monaco company that is a pipeline repair expert was describing possible methods for repair.
By the way........ please post your engineering degrees for us to look at so we can judge your competence to comment
Well number one we be the Germans! Their Export economy needs energy to make items to export for revenue. The Greens have done a good job killing off traditional sources of energy, so the Germans were planning on Russian Natural Gas to get them to The Nirvana of renewable energy.
lol..Good one!
