CPAC backpedals on pro-Russia tweet as some U.S. conservatives back Putin
Washington Post ^ | 10/1/2022 | Isaac Arnsdorf

The Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday tweeted — and then hours later deleted — a message that called on Democrats to “end the gift-giving to Ukraine” while featuring a fluttering Russian flag. The tweet also referred to “Ukraine-occupied territories,” appearing to legitimize Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims to annex provinces based on a referendum that the U.S. and allies view as illegal.

CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp on Saturday said the tweet did not clear the normal approval process because he was traveling for a conference in Australia. “Due to my travel into a distant time zone it was never approved per usual,” he said in a text message.

It’s the vapid fringe politics of Chomsky and....

Sadly, that's too true. Some of the posts I'm seeing in FR read exactly like they were written by Chomsky.

Putinists never criticize Russia for making war. They only criticize Ukraine for not surrendering to Kremlin promised genocide and national erasure. Thankfully, Ukrainians couldn’t care less what a few armchair commentators think.

I have and always will wage personal jihad against the Deep State (the true enemy) and support all who oppose it.

In the general outline, Bagster, I agree with you ... looking at who is actively supporting Ukraine (Soros, Pelosi, Schumer, etc, etc), that helps me to determine that Ukraine is as big or a bigger enemy than Russia ...

But I'm actively hoping that there is mutual destruction of both sides of this conflict ...

Your history is not accurate. Dems have pretty much ignored Ukraine since 2014. Obama sent blankets and deferred to Merkel then. Did Dems cheer when Trump sent missiles to Ukraine? Nope. Biden ignored Ukraine in 2021 while partnering with Putin to nuke up Iran. Putin took that disinterest as a green light. Until Putin fully invaded Dems have only been interested in Ukraine to hammer on Trump. The idea that the Dems are using Ukraine as some kind of base is just fanciful.

The failure of all conservatives to recognize the importance of helping Ukraine defend itself, has me just a little worried about how to vote.

Only stupid shits want to help Ukraine. This is a cluster long in the making. America and European nations did little to establish better relations with Russia after the Soviet Union dissolved. They wanted to continue the Cold War. They expanded NATO. Since Russia didn’t have better relations, it saw NATO expansion as a threat, and simply wanted to continue to have buffer (non-NATO) countries between them and NATO countries.

Beyond that, identify American interests in the fourth most corrupt nation in the world, Ukraine. There are none.

It is not America’s job to be the world’s cop. It is something that we repeatedly fail at. In the process America loses lives or treasure or both. It does not make the world more stable. It is our government responsibility and duty to protect our own border. We not only fail at that, we don’t even try. Come back to me with your desires to help Ukraine after we take care of business at our own border. Otherwise STFU.

I grew up in the ‘80’s San Francisco Bay Area. It’s the same “Reagan is going to cause WW3” stuff I herd from the nutball left then. Literally. Nauseating.

The US has been very active in the Ukraine for a very long time. They impeached Trump when he was trying to look into it. If it were a good and legal thing it would not be so secret. They would not try to hide it from a sitting president. They would not have Hunter Biden involved. Our government is illegal. And they have been doing illegal things in Ukraine for decades. You can say we did not start it. But you can’t say that we have not been involved in getting us to war. We have. This is just as much a CIA war as a Putin war.

Putin is no more than a Russian swamp. In my view they have the same moral authority as our swamp. I would like them both gone.

No true conservative supports the “evil empire”

No fan of any empire here, but I thought USSR, regarding which the term "evil empire" was coined, was largely controlled by Ukrainian born or raised officials at the highest ranks, including at least four Premiers.

Thus the whole region is entwined in a common rot. Russia's placement in opposition to globohomo can be appreciated from a paleoconservative and anti-globalist standpoint, its government cannot be trusted much more than that of any other in the region.

Scott Ritter claims that Russians know who is responsible.

Perp(s) needed sufficient quantities of three things: technology, motive, and stupidity. Ritter says that pipelines cannot be defended and that the only thing that has protected them prior to now was the assumption that nobody would be stupid enough to attack one of them. That was before Joe Biden of course...

A lot of the pro-Russia support is for and because of Putin.

“What has Ukraine done to you?”

Zelensky “Ukraine” is co-conspirator to the Biden Crime Enterprise. What they’ve done to me is what they’ve done to all Americans. I don’t recall being “brainwashed” by anybody; I am able to draw my own conclusions about corruption, world events, etc.

Who wants to spend US money to support Soros’ objectives politically, and protect Biden’s money laundering haven?

We have Americans suffering, and we are supporting Soros’s 2014 coup in Ukraine?

I am 100% out in the open, if Soros supports it, Biden supports it, I oppose it 100%.

Ukraine is Biden’s haven, where he got the prosecutor removed for investigating all the leftist corruption there, and Hunter was making “Gazillions” of dollars. Soros installed the government. Kerry, Pelosi, Romney, and Biden’s kids were all getting paid millions to get the corrupt government the support of all these RINOs and criminals taking apart our nation.

Who sides with the RINOs, Biden, and Soros?

It is ridiculous.

Hunter was making gazillions of dollars from a Russian leaning oligarch. And from the Moscow Mayor’s wife.

Biden forced Ukraine to remove the honest prosecutor by holding up $1 billion of US Aide. It wasn’t Ukraine corrupting Bidens. It was Bidens corrupting Ukraine.

Biden has been slow walking aid. We’ve only delivered $16 billion of the $40 billion Congress apporpriated.

Ukraine didn’t start this war. Russia did.

Ukraine didn’t invade Russia, Russia invaded Ukraine.

Ukraine hasn’t bombed Russian civilian residential buildings. Or leveled Russian cities large or small.

Wake up!!! You’re siding with evil against Ukraine! And even closing your eyes and trying to shirk responsibility and remain out of it, is a choice to back EVIL!.
