Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that “it’s never, ever OK to be a racist” when asked about former President Donald Trump’s comments about former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.
Anchor Dana Bash said, “I have to ask you about what appears to be a threat by former President Trump against your colleague, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell. Trump said, quote, ‘He has a death wish for supporting Democratic-sponsored bills.’ He also mocked McConnell’s wife and his own former transportation secretary as, quote, ‘China loving wife, Coco Chow.’ You’re a member of Senate GOP leadership. Are you okay with this?”

Trump said “China-loving”. This is based on his perception that Chow favors the position of the globalist elites who have granted WTO favored nation to China despite their human rights abuses and theft of intellectual property. All at the cost of large numbers of American jobs in the textile, furniture, electronics, and pharmaceutical industries. This is an entirely reasonable and debateable policy position.
The really racist position is that of Bash and the other opponents of Trump’s policy who are quite happy to get cheap goods from China at the expense of millions of jobs that previously were filled by middle class black and brown US citizens. They are not actually interested in the plight of real minorities, and are content to score empty political points over Trump distractions.
He’s just not sharp. They ask him a question and he feels like he has to accept the premise and answer or he’ll look dodgy.

Just imagine how Kari Lake would have answered this question. Actually, they (MSM) would be afraid to ask her because they know she would hand them their ass on a platter. Dumb ass Rick Scott should not be going on any of these programs because he has no backbone.
There’s moments where he is so good and stands strong. And then garbage like this.
Ping.
Our Murkowski supporting POS is making a moron out of himself again.
Get your head out of your colon, Rick Scott.
"Affirmative action" is racist.
"Diversity" is racist.
"Inclusion" is racist.
"Equity" is racist.
"Anitracism" is racist.
THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IS RACIST.
He’s clearly not as smart or well-traveled as Trump - never been to Chao Island and seen its mascot, Coco.
He’s also not MAGA.
Why is the media spelling it “Chow,” when it’s spelled “Chao?” Raaacissssss!
I smell an attempt to assemble a circular firing squad.
We just be practicing equity, Scotty.
And NO - Trump’s statements were not racist.
this has been rino leadership forever
ricky needs a primary
he is positioning himself as republican leader post-mitch
Oh heck, if she was as white as Cheryl Tiegs and her last name was “Puffs”, Trump would have called her “Cocoa Puffs”. He likes sticky plays on words.
A racist is somebody who says you can’t legitimately criticize someone because of their race.
There was nothing remotely “racist”...
If Trump is critical of anyone who isn’t white, he’s being racist. If he’s critical of a white woman, he’s misogynist, and if he’s critical of a white man, he’s mean and a fascist.
rick.............you dick
Same pronunciation as far as I can tell, just the usual bastardization
by the fanatical non-liberal liberal crowd.
Not hard to understand. Rick Scott, a “Lindsey Graham Republican” infers that Trump advocates physical violence and is a racist.
That is Scott’s problem.
They never learn......I want to see those 2 along with Turtle OUT ASAP!!!
Such a tiresome pattern.
Person the media dislikes says something.
Media carefully edits, takes out of context and presents it to member of GOP who promptly denounces it.
And the GOP surrender monkeys always walk into it.
Why go in these shows? Why?
This refers to the communist nation of China, not to a race. Much of Mitch McConnell's fortune come from the Chi-Com government through his wife's family.
Mitch McConnell's wife is Taiwanese, not Chinese. They are Chi-Com-loving Taiwanese.

Trump spelled it "Chow" in the tweet. Apparently "Coco Chao" has something to do with a Sonic Hedgehog Chao Island video game or something. "Chow" is a common transliteration in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as slang for food.
Tweeting whatever comes into one's head is going to have consequences, and probably should have consequences. People aren't always going to back you up. If you're a friend, you might tell DJT that. I hope he learns from the experience, but he won't.
