Belarus has allegedly threatened to deploy 100,000 troops in Ukraine unless Kyiv withdraws its forces from the ‘new Russian territories’ after the referendums.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the Belarus government in Minsk today, Thursday, September 29, announced that unless Kyiv withdraws all of its military forces from the four new regions of Russia, it will deploy 100,000 troops in Ukraine.

They were referring of course to the four occupied regions of Ukraine where the recent ‘referendums’ were held in which people allegedly voted to join the Russian Federation. They also revealed that railway stations and airports in the country are being prepared for recruiting citizens into the military.

Why is NATO committed to defend and non-member State? Isn’t that the entire point of the exercise? Russia doesn’t want and hasn’t wanted NATO on its borders. This is easily solvable, commit to Ukraine not in NATO, they conflict ends.

“Which is still true, since Belarus and Russia are in a political union, so they are not actually separate countries anymore.”

Another moronic statement.

My great grandfather was born it what is modern day Ukraine in the middle of the 19th century. The Birth records say Russia. There are a lot of Germans who came to America after moving to Russia.

“That looks like an engagement photo.”

Well, since Russia recognizes the independence of DNR, LNR, and the other territories, the treaties are between them, and the RF, of course!

“Well, since Russia recognizes the independence of DNR, LNR, and the other territories, the treaties are between them, and the RF, of course!”

And since nobody else recognizes their independence, it’s a treaty that nobody else on the planet (except maybe China, Iran, and the usual suspects) has to accept as valid.

You “don’t know?!”

I was just using a common phrase. I thought the gist of my post was pretty clear. Ukraine has been invaded twice by Russia in the last 8 years. Now, Belarus is threatening invasion of Ukraine as well. As near as I can tell, Ukraine has not invaded its neighbors.

“Please get it straight, NATO instigated this war by expanding nearly 300% since it’s founding.”

You ain’t wrong.
You poke someone with a stick long enough, they’re going to react. This is the reaction.

Admitting Poland to NATO in 1999 was bad enough in Russian eyes, but inviting Ukraine to join? Might as well have threatened to kick in the front AND back doors and storm in with guns blazing. I guarantee that’s how Putin saw it. NATO’s original 12 members is now 30 and more want to join.
If you saw all of your neighbors arming up and attending meetings to which you weren’t invited, what would you do?

Why would any pro-American conservative want to be like you, who is anti-American and not conservative? You’re not really making a compelling case.

Every country in the world who is able has “red lines” as far as hostile forces on their borders. It would be loony not to. Is Israel going to allow Iran to establish military capabilities in Syria? The examples are endless. Some peoples on Earth still have a sense of self preservation.

Would we allow Russians in Mexico? Look what we did with The Zimmerman Note in 1916.

I was just using a common phrase.

No ill intent on my part, nor do I wish to imply that there was any on your part - I just hate that phrase "I don't know that..."

It's weasely!

Yeah, let's accord Putin's Russia in 2022 the same moral standing as the U.S. in 1916!

Russia doesn’t dictate which requests we accept for an alliance.

So you think a nation, that is used to being an Imperial Power is just going to sit back and take it?

Especially knowing that the chances of anyone ever occupying it are slim and none?

The only thing that cured the Hun of their thirst for war was occupying it. Are we prepared to try to do that to Russia, knowing the fate of the others who tried it?

I would love for Russia to fall on their face, and with it Putin is replaced with someone more reasonable, but if it doesn’t pan out that way, to what lengths will we be willing to go?

Belarusians, like the Ukrainians and Russians, are just another different variety of Russian.

LOL, I think the ferocious defense of Ukraine proves that's a lie.
