President Joe Biden warned American oil companies on Wednesday not to raise prices on gasoline, in anticipation of Hurricane Ian hitting Florida.
“Do not. Let me repeat. Do not. Do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people,” Biden said sternly during an event in Washington, DC.
Biden said the price of oil “remained relatively low” and there was no reason for prices to go up, even though oil companies have evacuated offshore oil and natural gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico in anticipation of the storm.
The storm is expected to shut down eleven percent of oil production in the Gulf of Mexico, according to reports, prompting the price of oil to rise on Wednesday.

Gasoline in Northern Nevada is up $.50 in the last 2 weeks, back over $5.00. Don’t let Brandon blame on the gas companies and some Hurricane.
Had they raised prices to $8 a gallon, people would buy 5 gallons and drive to safety. Instead the first ones there filled up leaving none for others.
Price increases during times of high demand and low supply is a good thing.
Crude oil prices are down 15% from a month ago, but gas prices are surging. I paid about 80 cents more per gallon than the last time I put gas in the car (my commute is fairly short).

Translation. the election is only about 6 weeks away and Biden doesn’t want a gas price hike to put another torpedo into the already crippled economy.
Gas prices here are still steadily decreasing.
Yes, but the successful guy doesn’t let everyone in the
nation know what he’s been up to. You never know what
he’s been involved in.
He has been protected, and the media, the FBI, and other
agencies have been compromised, their leaders shown to
be corrupt, and him and his son to be “protected”.
His business is out there for all to see.
It may be a California thing. Someone at the pump (and someone upthread) said there is a refinery issue.
Gas went up 30 cents a gallon in my city last week.
It’s a good thing Biden was able to drain our national reserves before we really needed them for some national emergency like a war or a major hurricane.
California dictates too many blends and the refineries have to continually shut down and retool.
Paid $5.69 at my local station here in Calif. for regular jumped up 50 cents the last week or two.
Keep an eye on gas prices on November 8 before and after the polls close.
from what?

The 'big guy'.
Steady at $2.89 in Texas and Louisiana.

Let go, Brandon.
