You’ve probably known someone in your life who was simply full of it, right? A friend of a friend or acquaintance who lied constantly, burning a lot of calories trying to convince people to believe people of something that simply wasn’t so. That is how Democrats are on almost every issue, but there’s one in particular they desperately need to fool people on not only so they can use it as a weapon, but also so they can hide the horrors their political philosophy have committed against the people unfortunate enough to live under their absolute reign.
The real “big lie” is the creator of the concept of a big lie was somehow “right-wing.” The simple truth is every single despotic totalitarian is a left-winger. Under the umbrella of “progressive” lives socialism, communism and fascism. But to hide the reality of what their ideological brethren have committed, Democrats lie and say monsters like Mao, Stalin and Hitler were of the right. This is impossible.
There’s a very simple way to think about this: think of political philosophy as a line with a right and left direction. One side wants a government that does more, that grows in size and scope, and the other wants one with a shrinking, smaller government doing less. Where do all of those “isms” fall on that spectrum? They all feature massive government taxing the hell out of everyone, mandating behavior and regulating lives.

Sprinkle with big heaps of NEOCONS from both sides.
They were social democrats also.
Nazi - National Socialists. Socialist, still.
History, to liberals, is whatever they can make up that makes them look like the good guys.
Bolsheviks in Russia were SDs (Social Democrats) too
Only a complete idiot would think that a political group that he’d the word Socialist in WASN’T an actual Left Wing Progressive Socialist Organization.
Yes, and hey were ALSO voracious racists but rooted in Socialist dogma.
There are some autocracies and tyrannies on the right as well as on the left. Theocracies are one form of rightwing tyranny, e.g. Iran.
Those socialists who first dreamed up fascism were ultimately kicked to the curb by the original founders of socialism and labeled rightwing.
This incessant need to make a list of everything a particular person considers to be good and label it conservative, and everything that is bad and label it leftwing is truly odd.
There is some position, sometimes called the via media, which balances individual freedom with care for the community as a whole. Humans are social animals and so supporting the community is just as important as supporting the individual. It is when we go too far in either direction that we go wrong.
BTW, tyrants love libertarians and their utopian nonsense. It is so much easier to trample over the rights and liberties of atomized individuals than in tact and supporting families, fraternal organizations, and communities.
It is very possible to have a rightwing socialist society.
Saw some dude on a video once who emphasized the point that the spectrum that’s really important is not left-to-right or extreme liberal to extreme conservative but rather the spectrum from totalitarian/authoritarian to complete libertarian/anarchist (with, as in most cases, the ideal some difficult point to find in between). Made sense to me, especially because leftist regimes (I’m looking at you, Brandon) tend to have a natural tendency to drift to the authoritarian end of the spectrum.
Yes there were several factions, another was SR’s (Socialist Revolutionaries). Trotsky was originally an SR but moved to the Bolsheviks. He was a pivotal leader for the Bolsheviks to get them thru the Revolution. Then Lenin had him murdered later.
We can learn allot I think from how the Bolsheviks seized power in that Revolution. There were many like minded Socialists who were supportive of removing the Czar. Then they factionalized the sub groups and knocked them off one by one. The Whites, the SR’s, the Blacks, the Greens, and others.
Had those groups coalesced together they’d have destroyed the Bolsheviks. But they Bolsheviks we’re very effective in keeping them opposed to each other while they killed off each group up to taking the entire country. So fictionalization is ESSENTIAL in ultimately achieving their Goals. See any parallels here in the US today?
This is bollocks. Let me explain this one more time, in the language all progressives understand. Hitler was a man. Mussolini was a man. Mao was a man. Stalin was a man. Pol pot was a man. Trump is a man. Therefore, Trump is Hitler and all the rest rolled into a giant orange ball.
This is not correct in my view. It doesn’t end at the Economic position. In the end it’s about not having the freedom of self determination. Means of production, property ownership, or otherwise. Socialism doesn’t end with the economic model, it can’t. It’s everything. Just as the WEF says today “you’ll own nothing and be happier”.
I think Winston Churchill said it best when he described it this way, “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.”
Trying to sub-factionalize Socialism seems like a canard to a bigger POV IMO.
There’s a twenty-something homeless black guy that lives in the woods, not far from here. He was genuinely surprised when I informed him that the KKK was hustorically a Democrat strong-arm organization.
True, but the Nazi American Leftist Media Fake News Projection will never end.
And if it does, I did Nazi that coming.
hitler was a vegetarian
Guilty!
he was a LEFTIST
no doubt
the progressives of the day loved hitler and mussolini
they admired their accomplishments as well as their methods
then hitler attacked uncle joe
that was the end of the love affair
they loved uncle joe the commie much more than hitler the socialist
and once the genocide came out
nazism became an orphan
until the LEFT was able to pin on the Right
Yeah, it’s true. Next tell him that Republicans freed black slaves while Democrats not only voted to keep them enslaved, but to expand slavery into additional states where slavery did not yet exist. That should
