I think it’s quite disturbing to say that the Germans should have stopped what happened. Part of the greatness of a country is its willingness to look at where it succeeded and where it failed, America has to do that. And I think Poland has to do that
Sorry Deborah, whether reparations are just at this point in time is questionable, but the claim is just. Apparently she doesn't know Poland had no government at the time. Keeping civilian order was the obligation of Germany. She also appears not to know the Polish Government, in exile in the UK, made demands on the allies to address the murder of Jews by the German government from 1942 on. They presented evidence thanks to the bravery of Polish operatives who infiltrated Auschwitz to the US government which refused to act. In fact the often mentioned suggestion to bomb the camps and/or the rails leading to them came from the Polish government. Given that a foolish issue for the US to weigh in on. Leave it to Poland and Germany to work out.
These reparations would go to Poland, not to the Jewish community.

If Debbie wants reparations, she can start a GoFundMe Page and get all her idiot friends at the UN and Martha’s Vineyard to chip in.

I was really pissed off when I was in Warsaw a few months ago and saw the Gay Flag prominently displayed at our Embassy.
I flipped the bird at the Embassy and shouted “F___ Joe Biden!” at the top of my lungs.
The Krauts may have moved them to Poland for extermination because they had a lower opinion of the Jews than the Nazis if that can be believed.
They set up the camps in Poland because of the rail lines and it hid the extent of the Holocaust from the Germans. Even so, word got out and, many Jews in Berlin started committing suicide, which actually at the time was a great cause of embarrassment for the Nazis.
For several centuries, Polish nobles hired Jews as middlemen to manage their estates, collect taxes, and enforce their laws on the peasants. It was not unknown for these Jewish managers to abuse their authority. At least some of Polish anti-Semitism is rooted in that history.
The reason so many Jews moved to Poland over the centuries was because it was the only place in Europe where there weren’t constant pogroms.
One of the worst progroms in history occurred in York, England in 1190.
