Summons delivered to eligible men at midnight. Schoolteachers pressed into handing out draft notices. Men given an hour to pack their things and appear at draft centres. Women sobbing as they sent their husbands and sons off to fight in Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The first full day of Russia’s first mobilisation since the second world war produced emotional showdowns at draft centres and even signs of protest, while it appears Russia could be considering far more than the 300,000 new conscripts claimed by the defence minister, Sergei Shoigu.
One woman in a small village in the Zakamensky region of Buryatia, in eastern Siberia, said she first felt something was amiss when the dogs began barking about midnight.
In a community of 450 people, the village head was walking from house to house, seeking to hand out more than 20 draft notices. As men gathered before departing the next morning, she said, some drank vodka, while others hugged and told each other to stay safe. Women cried and made the sign of the cross over the small minibus that carried them away.

and then drunk by the time they hit the frontline.
My gut tells me that within 12 weeks, the world will likely be at war. The looser will likely use Nuclear deterrents from invasions. No one will care about ‘CO2 or Enviromental damage’ and lots of people will starve.
To anybody who supported George Soros, the Trump Impeachment because of the Biden kick back schemes, and this Biden Administration, I truly hope Karma finds you.
Elections have consequences, and unless you have clean and fair elections, you get horrific consequences.
Back in the U.S.S.R.
Flew in from Miami Beach, B.O.A.C
Didn’t get to bed last night
On the way, the paper bag was on my knee
Man, I had a dreadful flight
[Chorus]
I’m back in the U.S.S.R.
You don’t know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the U.S.S.R.
[Verse 2]
Been away so long, I hardly knew the place
Gee, it’s good to be back home
Leave it ‘till tomorrow to unpack my case
Honey, disconnect the phone
[Chorus]
I’m back in the U.S.S.R.
You don’t know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the U.S.
Back in the U.S.
Back in the U.S.S.R.
[Bridge]
Well, the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
That Georgia’s always on my mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mind
Oh, come on!
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
Yeah, I’m back in the U.S.S.R.
You don’t know how lucky you are, boys
Back in the U.S.S.R.

[Verse 3]
Oh, show me round your snow-peaked mountains way down south
Take me to your daddy’s farm
Let me hear your balalaikas ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm
[Chorus]
I’m back in the U.S.S.R. (Hey)
You don’t know how lucky you are, boys
Back in the U.S.S.R.
[Outro]
Oh, let me tell you, honey
Hey, I’m back, I’m back in the U.S.S.R.
Hey, it’s so good to be home
Yeah, back in the U.S.S.R.
Partial mobilization.
Russia has a total military reserve of 25 million.
They are only tapping that pool of 300,000 reservists.
Do the math.
I can say this for Russia. They can slaughter more of their own young men than you can shake a stick at.
Indeed. WWII should be an ongoing living message to many today.
Training and logistics will be a key factor.

As I see it, there is a path out.
Russia wins the referendum in the disputed regions, and annexes those regions. Putin then plays it smart, and withdraws from all other Ukrainian lands. He then declares the war over.
Ukraine will rightly be upset about losing that territory. But then NATO plays it smart, and tells Ukraine to accept it in return for a huge rebuilding program. Ukraine plays it smart, and declares the war over.
All three groups have to play it smart (make decisions to avoid WW III). It has nothing to do with who was right, and who was wrong.
One thing is for sure. The American taxpayer will end up paying for most of the post-war rebuilding.
I doubt Russia has the equipment and material left to deploy a modern army. Keep blowing up every railroad track and bridge within 20 miles of the border and they’ll be easy targets if they try to deploy.
They already have previous training.
Further training perhaps.
Logistics, perhaps.
The Russian Defense Ministry has already clarified who exactly falls under the mobilization.
Those who fall under ALL THREE points are subject to mobilization:
1. Those who have previously served in the military.
2. Those who have a military specialty that is needed.
3. And most importantly, these that have combat experience.
Another mindless post by a troll. So, troll, 100% mobilization? Try just over 1%, Tard.
Between European and American banks we hold Russian deposits of over $650 billion dollars what Russia should never again see.

Great Plan. The problem is that I don’t see Putin playing it smart. Once he committed to full mobilization, he is committed to WWIII, like a current that act takes you places you don’t want to go. Winning on the battlefield will give them confidence, and they won’t stop.
LOL, 'Russian military training'
Michael Kofman, a military analyst at CNA, an Arlington, Virginia–based think tank, who has been following the battle closely, tweeted late Sunday afternoon, “It’s taken me a while to figure out what [the Russian military is] trying to do, because it looks so ridiculous and incompetent.” B.A. Friedman, a military historian and tactician, went further: “This isn’t a good army executing a bad plan. It isn’t a good army executing outdated or out-of-context tactics. It’s a bad army!”

Yeah, that ‘LOL, Russian training.’
This story sounds so familiar.
Ex wife's grandfather was conscripted forcefully in the dead of the night during WW2 by the Nazi's. He had less than 15 minutes to say goodbye to the family. He told them to get out of Germany, they did. He was never seen again. Ex's family had to escape Germany, then Hungary. Eventually they made it to the U.S.
US training is top-notch. US pilots avereage twice the flying time of Russian pilots.
Why the US would dominate Russia or China in an air war: It’s not the tech, it’s the training
Here in the States, the U.S. Air Force is currently amid a push to extend pilot flight hours to 20 per month, an uptick from the previous average of 17.8. Marine Corps aviators clock an average of 14 to 16 hours a month, and Army and Navy pilots tend to fall right in that same neck of the woods. That means every U.S. military pilot spends between 168 and 240 hours per year at the stick of their aircraft. Russia, on the other hand, boasts an average pilot flight time per year of just 100 hours, though new pilots, given additional training, topped out at around 120. An air war today would likely see much more fighting between 4th generation platforms like Russia’s Su-35 and America’s F/A-18 Super Hornet.
That means, even if a Russian pilot and American pilot entered into service at the same time and flew identical jets, the American pilot would still have around twice as much experience in their aircraft than their Russian opponent when they met in an aerial battle space.
