The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

My next door neighbor just left to stay with his brother in Chattanooga, so my eyes on the the condo are gone now. I do have a small Arlo camera in the back screened in porch, hoping I can get some views from it. I appreciate the info about the trees.
We're actually going from South Carolina up to Ohio on Wed. That should be far enough. The 1st anniversary of Mr. RightField's passing is October 3, so we'll just make a trip of it. Hope I don't have too much damage when I get back.

To be clear, ALL of Florida will be affected by this storm. It’s nasty over there on the Yankee side and out in the middle right now. Horse country is next.

Gas stations across northern Pasco and southern Hernando counties are empty.

We really need a jog westward. Those of us here in Central Florida have nowhere to go! Ride it out!

Whether you board up your windows or not (and you know what you should do), make a point to close all of your interior doors (bedrooms, bathrooms, study, etc.). If a window is breached, this may limit structural wind damage.
