Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party on Wednesday, stressing China's military readiness after the Army ''fully implemented the strategy of reforming and strengthening the military','' as reported by CCTV.
The media wrote that Xi said the country should ''grasp the new situation and [...] focus on preparing for war,'' without providing further details on what conflict he referred to.
Beijing and Moscow recently underwent joint military exercise, however, the situation around Taiwan is also becoming more intense, with the Taiwan's Defense Ministry today stating that 12 Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, which is perceived by many as the unofficial border between the two sides

Sounds like an expendable army.
Taiwan was never part of China.
Will General Milley’s Chinese General friends alert him ahead of any attack on Taiwan or anyone else?
In the 1972 Shanghai Communique, agreed to by China and the USA the eve of Nixon's visit to China, says: "acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China" \
And that's been US policy since then, written into many treaties and agreements, both explicitly and implicitly.
Taiwan indeed has de facto not been part of china for 130 years, going back to Imperial days.
But changing 5 decades of declared US policy is no small thing.
Nobody is nuking anybody. The two dropped in ‘45 were the last nukes that will ever be used in anger.
The silver lining.
This might be bad news for Taiwan, good news for us.
If the ChiComs thought our Deep State was gonna be able to stick around, I doubt they’d be in such a hurry to take Taiwan.
Hey, that looks familiar........
It’s only about 2000+ years old..............
In 1895, the Quing dynasty which antedated the Republic of China, ceded Taiwan to Japan. China has spent 70 years trying to invent a claim to Taiwan.
Read your history...
Are you sure you know history? Besides, you missed my stated point entirely.
China ceded Taiwan to Japan after they lost the First Sino-Japanese War. Imperial China also ceded Korea to Japan, but in the end, Japan wasn't allowed to keep that either. The ultimate "owner" of Taiwan, Chiang Kai Shek's nationalist regime, declared Taiwan was part of China also.
Regardless, IT IS STATED US POLICY FOR 70 YEARS, affirmed many times, that Taiwan is part of China. It may not be true. You may not like it. But you saying, like an arrogant t***, "read your history" doesn't change the entire system of international structure and law which has been in place over that time, or the consequences which will come from now trying to change it
Thinking the same thing. We got a military more concerned about protecting the right to cross dress than fighting a war.
Yeah, the demographics do skew heavily to males, but they are all getting older. 30+ is not the best age group to order into a meat grinder of your own making. 10-20 years ago I was worried about China’s male heavy population, but now age demographics is over shadowing sex demographics. They recently had to revise their population estimates down by over 100 million and all those missing people were in the <30 age group.
I’m not saying the CCP won’t try to make war, only that they will destroy themselves and China if they do. China will apex within the next couple years if it hasn’t already and it is just a matter of a long, slow decline or a fast, violent decline.
I'm now starting to understand the brilliance of Japan making lifelike robots. LOL
