Florida officials made fake 'official-looking' brochure advertising refugee benefits for migrants, lawsuit against Ron DeSantis says

Migrants who were flown to Martha's Vineyard filed a lawsuit against Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday.

Migrants were made to believe that they would receive refugee benefits upon arrival, lawsuit says.

They received "official-looking materials" including a brochure "manufactured" by Florida officials.

Florida officials and agencies used several tactics to lure migrants on a chartered flight to Martha's Vineyard, including making a fake brochure that purports refugee benefits, according to a class-action lawsuit.

On September 14, 50 migrants, most of whom were from Venezuela, were flown in two chartered planes from Texas to Martha's Vineyard as part of a political stunt by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to criticize border policies under the Biden administration.

Now, a group of those migrants is taking action against DeSantis and other state officials and agencies in a class-action lawsuit filed on Tuesday. Lawyers representing the migrants accused DeSantis and Florida officials of plotting an "illegal scheme" to "defraud vulnerable immigrants to advance a political motive."......

"On information and belief, the brochure was manufactured by Defendants," the lawsuit read, adding that it "echoed the type of false representation" that migrants were given by word-of-mouth, such as assistance with housing, food, and employment in the first 90 days upon arrival in Massachusetts.

It'll be interesting to find out who actually produced the brochure.

Lawyers for Civil Rights says migrants bound for Martha's Vineyard received this brochure promising cash, job placement and more. Lawyers for Civil Rights

Once this ticket business was in some plan to be carried out, is it possible that Democrats in Florida did the cheapo brochure and handed it out? I just don’t see the Governors staff going to this extent.

100% manufactured outrage. Of course the FBI won’t offer up any of their services to investigate, because any analysis of the paper, for instance, will show it didn’t come from Florida.

My guess is that it came right from Massachusetts...right out of their "Sanctuary State" office.

I'm looking up the phone number.

Just FYI, when I was in Mexico my host handed me a comic book which was beside the register in a convenience store. It was booklet size and free. It was an instruction booklet complete with plenty of illustrations in case the person didn’t read Spanish. He said it told would-be border crossers on where to cross, what to take and how to explain your reasons like you feared persecution. It contained means to contact American institutions and government agencies to get help in remaining in America.

I love DeSantis. Keep up the good work buddy. Incidentally here’s the guy DeSantis beat in the last election. It’s a hysterical story.

So what exactly is “fake” or untruthful on this “brochure”?

Notice how the Commie lawyers jump into action along with the anti-Constitutional-minded Bexar Cty sheriff to try to divert the discussion away from what is an illegal alien liberal hypocrisy disaster story.

If DeSantis is a fake official then they’re election deniers.

Well, there’s nothing false on the brochure:

https://www.mass.gov/service-details/other-benefits-available-to-refugees

Other Benefits Available to Refugees
Additional services available to refugees resettled in Massachusetts
Reception and Placement Services (funded through the United States Department of State directly with resettlement agencies (a.k.a. voluntary agencies (volags)) facilitates the placement of refugees in the United States for resettlement.

During the first 90 days after a refugee’s arrival in Massachusetts, resettlement agencies provide basic needs support including:

assistance with housing
furnishings
food and other basic necessities
clothing, and
transportation to job interviews and job training
assistance in applying for social security cards
registering children for school
using public transportation, facilities, and services
community and cultural orientation

Matching Grant Program (funded through the Office of Refugee Resettlement) - The Match Grant Program is a public/private partnership between a resettlement agency and the Office of Refugee Resettlement under which refugee resettlement costs are shared by the government and a local community. Resettlement agencies who resettle refugees under the Match Grant Program provide cash assistance and in-kind support for refugees for an additional 90 days beyond the normal 30-day period for Reception and Placement assistance.

DING! DING! DING!
We have a winner!

DeSantis has already said, they took the wording directly from the Massive-2-shits website! If they changed the wording or something, that MIGHT be cause for an issue, but otherwise, this is nothing more than an ambulance-chasing lawyer who ran to those illegal aliens and now the ambulance-chasing lawyer is tricking them into being FURTHER POLITICAL PAWNS by promising to “get those people” who tricked you into coming in and crassly darkening Martha’s Vineyard’s streets!!

Massachusetts bills itself as a sanctuary state and offers benefits to migrants so how is the brochure false or misleading regardless of who printed it and is hardly different than the hat the Biden Administration is doing on and daily basis

Yes indeed! A number of the outraged illegals got together and decided to call some attorneys to bring suit for their horrible treatment.

Hold on now. I read a Boston Globe article just last week about how the community came together, and in spite of their inability to house the illegals, they lavished them with church accommodations, coffee, pizza and who knows what else.

I'm going to guess the lawsuit happened in one of two ways:

1) Some ungrateful "refugee" became butthurt when his pizza had sausage instead of pepperoni ...
- or -
2) Leftist ambulance chasing weasels scrambled over the top of each other to see who would get to talk a bunch of illegals into a lawsuit so they can get name recognition, money or both.

I bet those lawyers could barely contain their outrage over how those poor people were treated. What is the over/under for how many days it takes for the brochures the lawyers handed out to surface? Paging Jimmy McGill!!

Who’s paying the lawyers?

(Daily Caller New Foundation) — The Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation set up a GoFundMe for the 50 migrants sent to the island by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as part of his program relocating illegal migrants to sanctuary cities.

The migrants stayed on Martha’s Vineyard for about 24 hours before Massachusetts called in the National Guard and relocated them to a military base on Cape Cod. The online fundraiser, which raised more than $38,000, claimed the migrants hadn’t been informed of where they were going and were “lured” by the promise of jobs, as originally reported by Townhall.
