The US Air Force will unveil its next-generation stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider, during the first week of December, lifting the tight cloak of secrecy that has surrounded the aircraft's development.
Northrop Grumman and the Air Force confirmed the timeline for unveiling the B-21 on Tuesday, saying that it will offer an 'exclusive view' of the aircraft at the company's facility in Palmdale, California.
The bomber, which will be nuclear-capable, will cost about $639 million per plane, and the Pentagon plans to buy at least 100 of them to complement and eventually replace the aging B-2 Spirit.
'The B-21 is the most advanced military aircraft ever built and is a product of pioneering innovation and technological excellence,' said Northrop Grumman exec Doug Young in a statement.

Why uncloak it now? My guess is, a message to Putin (the Chicoms probably already have the plans anyway).
But if I had a stealth bomber I wouldn’t uncloak it at all.
Crewless $635 million drone.
You didn't mention Japan. Bombers are useful during wars against enemies with factories, for example China. Heavy metal wars are won by the side with the most standing factories.
I can see it now! They have a press conference at an air force base an unveil it it with nothing being seen because of its stealth, claiming this is the best technology money can buy.
Is it ELECTRIC?!!!!!!!!is it electric!!!! is it electrick?
...or the Clintons.
Maybe there is a lease plan, low down, low monthly and limited bombing missions. Worth a try....
Why do we still need bombers? It seems that ballistic missiles are much more efficient. And cheaper.
See post #7...
Hunter will sell them the plans for a pile of crack and an evening with a couple of underage prostitutes.
20 of these bombers or a border wall.
Same price.
Which would keep your family safer?
They usually reveal things once they are obsolete - so maybe we are completing the transition away from piloted aircraft.
Does Revell already have a model of it? Cuz way back in 1987, I built their B-2 model and the B-2 wasn’t officially released for public consumption until the following year. The model was reasonably close, but not quite exact.
They should put it on Flight Sim FS2020 first for beta testing.
I believe its just political. Some a-hole politician thinks this will send a message or something stupid.
In the 80’s, we didnt “reveal” the F117 until it had been used in combat (Panama). The idea being why telegraph what we will use or do next time.
No doubt they think this will be a warning to Putin.....B-21 takes off from somewhere in the midwest, flys a 24 hour flight to UKR (with refuels) and bombs some Russians in UKR.......big PR.
With the removal of a couple of trailing edge teats on the wing surfaces, done for lower frequency long range ASR system RCS defeat I guess they think it’ll sneak up on them. Only problem is when one takes off, everybody gonna know it and there will be a 24 hour warning in the likely areas of its destination.
I wouldn’t want to fly in one. It was built by Northrup and they went woke long ago. They also tend to hire new grads to cut costs, although that never worked out for them.
Uncloak? There is a large display of it in the Melbourne, Florida, office foyer, for at least 5 years now.
