Exactly, you can’t make a federal law that voids the presumption of innocence.

Indictments are not convictions.Yup. If they're a threat to the community, hold them with no bail or high bail.
No deprivation of rights without conviction.
Now do "civil forfeiture".

Plus, felony-indicted individuals are just as unlikely to end up receiving timely protection from the Po-Po against armed bad guys as the rest of us are.

I don’t have a problem with “civil forfeiture” if what is being forfeited is the ill-gotten gains of crime, stolen contraband, or profits from an illegal operation.
That said, there should be strict requirements of proof to get that done.

Yep. I hate drugs. But the federal war on drugs has created an entire secret police state that is far more dangerous to normal people and society than drugs.

Notice the ‘significantly expanded gun rights’ propaganda? SCOTUS actually slapped down some of the infringement that government is explicitly prohibited from doing.

If you’re convicted of a felony and pay all your fines and successfully complete any and all state ordered rehabilitation, why shouldn’t you have your 2A rights? They don’t take your 4A rights away in perpetuity for felony convictions. Or your 1A or any others. Why just the 2A? It’s unconstitutional

misuse of firearms in criminal acts should demand increased penalties, perhaps life without parole, but once time is served, a constitutional right cannot be denied.

Depending on the felony, they actually do. Ever heard of the sex offender registry? It isn’t just 2A rights that go away after a felony conviction.

Not only proof, but actual charges filed and a conviction. Now the standard is so low that mere suspicion of illegal activity is enough to allow LEOs to seize personal property.
