“SAG-AFTRA has continued to see a small but vocal minority spread misinformation that certainly makes it harder to do the work of the union,” said one board member, who declined to be identified because they were not authorized to comment. “That has been a challenge for the union overall. The National Board has been consistent. The union has continued to keep people safe and get people back to work.”
However, Drescher, by opening the topic to debate, is giving a voice to members who feel aggrieved by the use of the mandates.
In her position on vaccine mandates, Drescher appears at odds with the union she now leads — and the slate she heads, the Unite for Strength group that holds a majority of seats on the National Board.
Last month, the “Nanny” star and cancer survivor raised her concerns about giving studio employers the right to require workers on film and TV shows to be vaccinated, in a letter published in the union’s magazine. Although she said she was vaccinated, she called the move “a slippery slope.”

“What’s next, we can’t work without a monkeypox vaccine?” Drescher asked, calling for members to educate themselves on the newest science. “The allowance that we have granted the employers walks on a razor’s edge of compromising religious, disability and body sovereignty FREEDOMS.”

The union released a 27-page list of shows that have implemented vaccine requirements for members of its cast and crew, including 20th Century Fox’s “9-1-1: Lone Star,” ABC’s “General Hospital” and NBCUniversal’s “The Equalizer.”

It’s a different show, it stars a stronk womyn POC and it’s called “The Equitizer,” spreading equity at the end of a gun. Sort of like Baltimore.
What do you see being made in Hollyweird in the past twenty years that’s worth a damn? I did watch Breaking Bad which I found exceptional. The spin off wasn’t bad. I, on occasion, will record sporting events, turn the sound down and fast forward through talking heads and commercials. Sometimes I’ll get distracted and will see glimpses of shows being hawked by the networks. My God! Five seconds and you feel your mind recoiling, becoming insulted and nauseous.

There is a strong Eeyore/Kevorkian strain in (alleged) conservatism nowadays. "The elections are rigged, the courts are rigged, the corporations are rigged, Big Tech is rigged, it's all over man... TEOTWAWKI and bring in CWII." For a group of people who trash the trans movement, the irony is that some conservatives seem to have completed their transition to Johnny Fontane.
Stories like that of Ms Drescher stand athwart the din of the Fontane wing. Movements start with steps. Hollyweird only needs a few people like her before tides turn. Look at homeschooling....only 11% of kids are HSed but the left is melting down over it.
As for ignoring Hollywood, the Invisible Hand is a great disciplinarian. Maverick made a ton of dough. Woke nonesnese tanked. They notice. They may hate us, but they love cash. Through the demand for better product, hearts and minds can be won without a shot being fired.

IIRC, she had a small part in Saturday Night Fever — in a scene in a disco.
My wife’s co-workers husband had cornea transplants years ago with no issues for ten years. He took the elixirs of life the covid mRNA vaccines and their boosters. Since then one of his eyes has gone bezerk with blurred vision and other issues. He’s went to multiple eye doctors and none can explain why his eye is acting this way. The only change-—the jab.
My wife has two lady friends in church who had breast cancer and they both caught it early and were treated with no recurring cancer for nearly a decade. They took the jab and guess what has reared it’s head... I know the FR science is god cadre will dismiss this as coincidence and they are irrelevant to their big picture but this is happening in every little town, county and cities. Just because you reject the numbers doesn’t mean it’s not happening, but hey new science is into dogma, not numbers.

If you knew me you’d be quite embarrassed by such a ridiculous statement. She’s already a has been. They don’t even have to blacklist her. I see things actually accelerating down hill, if that’s even possible.
As with Russia and Ukraine and a lot of other things going on around the world, I don’t need to take a side in this, but do want to point out that any SAG-AFTRA leader is a “has-been” in somebody’s eyes. They have time to do the union business because they aren’t as much in demand as actors as they used to be. Still if one union leader went on to become the president of the United States, and one over-the-hill member did the same, maybe there’s something to be said for “has-beens.”
