Migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by Florida governor say they were misled

(Reuters) - Some migrants who were flown to the wealthy island of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, said on Thursday they were duped about their destination, and Democratic leaders called for a probe of the move by Florida's Republican governor to send them there from Texas.

One Venezuelan migrant who arrived at Martha's Vineyard identified himself as Luis, 27, and said he and nine relatives were promised a flight to Massachusetts, along with shelter, support for 90 days, help with work permits and English lessons. He said they were surprised when their flight landed on an island.

He said the promises came from a woman who gave her name as "Perla" who approached his family on the street outside a San Antonio shelter after they crossed from Mexico and U.S. border authorities released them with an immigration court date.

He said the woman, who also put them up in a hotel, did not provide a last name or any affiliation, but asked them to sign a liability waiver.

"We are scared," he said, adding he and others felt they were lied to. "I hope they give us help."

We should, in all honesty, ask DeSantis to fine any business who hires an illegal knowingly (or retaining them 10 days after they are discovered to be illegally here), $100,000 per illegal alien per day.

That would have every illegal in Florida run. Then we do the same in Texas and Arizona. When we start sweeping around the southern states, they’ll flee and eventually end up in Cali. It will resolve itself.

There are seven Sanctuary States:

California
Oregon
Colorado
New Mexico
Vermont
Massachusetts
Illinois

Texas, Florida, AZ are not sanctuary states. So, every illegal immigrant should be given passage to the seven above and welcomed with open arms. This is what the people in those states voted for. If the residents of those states have an issue with it they need to contact their state representative and express their displeasure.

Meanwhile, there should be buses and planes leaving the TX, FL & AZ daily transporting to whichever Sanctuary state or city they wish to move to.

I would start with Burlington, VT. Drop them off in front of Bernie’s house. I am sure he and Mrs Sanders will help them get settled.
Next, send a planeload to Nantucket. Then a planeload to Bend, OR. Another to Olympia, WA. Aspen, CO. Nantucket, MA.

Keep sending a plane every week to where the RICH people live and go to escape the the hell hole cities. You need to make the people who go to the $2500/plate dinners call up their congress critter and the governor and say MAKE IT STOP.
These are the people that fund the campaigns of the politicians. They are the people that when they call the politician, they take their call.

Usually they are duped by coyotes moving them north to the US. I have no problem with the relocation of illegal aliens from border states to self proclaimed sanctuary cities, towns and states but they shouldn’t be lied to. Stick to the facts and sell what these places are offering like it’s a resort vacation. Being told you’re going to MA and being surprised to land on an island in MA? Can’t help you.

It melts my brain to see how carefully worded the news reports are in ways that are biased in sympathy towards the illegal aliens and sanctuary policies but frame “critics” as mean spirited, heartless, racists, etc.

So does that mean if immigrants were lured to the US in the first place with the promise of being taken care of by the American government that would now be a bad thing?

“I would start with Burlington, VT.”

I think it would be better to send illegals to one small elite sanctuary enclave until authorities there beg for mercy and repudiate their own previous political posturing (on live TV) and sue for peace with the Red States.

Then select another elite target and force the issue there. Then the next, and the next.

Pretty soon these elites will learn to keep their mouths shut. They will probably continue to undermine the country because that’s what they do, but at least we won’t see them strutting their false charity in public.

I would start with Burlington, VT.

But then they'd all be 24/7 pot smokers, too lazy to even mow lawns.

Since they don’t actually live here or have a hone state and are traveling “migrants”, there might be a few holes in their narrative.

Border Security Operations Center (BSOC) - Joint Operations and Intelligence Centers (JOIC). The Border Security Operations Center (BSOC) is headquartered in Austin and serves as the focal point for the six Joint Operations and Intelligence Centers (JOICs) located along the Texas/Mexico border. Responsibilities include analyzing intelligence and collecting border security information, while collaborating with state, local, and federal law enforcement partners to conduct intelligence-directed border enforcement operations and ensure information exchange between agencies. BSOC is tasked with the timely dissemination of intelligence through a variety of mediums to law enforcement and governmental partners, including the in-depth weekly Border Operations Sector Assessment of the Texas/Mexico border. BSOC operates the State of Texas’ technology initiatives to combat criminal and border exploitation while supporting tactical initiatives, such as the Special Operations Group.

Hooray for PERLA

Biden has been quietly ERASING all those court dates-—which are well into 2023-2024.
