The Russian invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24 sparked the beginning of an intensified war between the two forces. Now, the richest man in Ukraine, Rinat Akhmedov, set out to build shelters for Ukrainian soldiers as the war raged on with all of its devastations.
According to Bloomberg's report, a Ukrainian steelworks controlled by billionaire Akhmetov has started constructing prefabricated dugouts and transporting them to soldiers engaged in front-line combat with Russia.
WAR CAPSULES
According to steel manufacturer Metinvest Holding LLC, the capsules can resist impacts from 150-millimeter rounds after being buried 1.5 meters (5 feet) beneath the surface. They may be utilized as field bathrooms, canteens, or hiding places during assaults.
The cost of one of these shelters is roughly 200,000 hryvnia ($5,450), but the company has already given away 10 of them to the front lines and plans to manufacture 20 of them each month.
A small team of people may transport the completed item because it can be carried in numerous pieces, each weighing 50 kilograms (110 pounds), and assembled after delivery.
The products are made in a Metinvest facility in Zaporizhzhia, a city in southeast Ukraine that the Russian military has partially controlled.
SYMBOL OF DEFIANCE
The economic impact of Russia's conflict with Ukraine on Metinvest is significant. As Russia shelled the complex with a holdout of Ukrainian troops inside earlier this year, the company's Azovstal steelworks in the country's southeast became a symbol of defiance.
The wealthiest person in Ukraine, Akhmetov is the owner of System Capital Management, the biggest industrial conglomerate in the nation with holdings in mining, metallurgy, and energy. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he is worth $5.6 billion.
The Ukrainian steel and mining giant Metinvest Group control the full value chain, from mining and processing coal and iron ore to producing and distributing semi-finished and completed steel goods.
SCM Holdings, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, holds the majority of shares in Metinvest Group (71.24%), followed by Smart Holding Group (23.76%), and Clarandale Limited (5%).
Since 2013, Yuriy Ryzhenkov has served as the general director, chief executive officer, and chairman of the executive committee for Metinvest.

Must be some nasty trench warfare in part of the Donbass.
And if the bunker thing doesn’t work out they can be used as U-boats…
What? No 10% for the Big Guy?
Massachusetts should order some for their immigrant influx...
“And if the bunker thing doesn’t work out”
NO WORRIES!
Ukraine not dependent upon international build. Probably, Ukraine has found a purpose for all the utilizing all that military scrap metal left by Russia!
‘BIG GUY’ BIDEN Hunter Biden emails ‘name Joe Biden as “The Big Guy” who’d get 10% share in deal with Chinese energy firm’, report says

JOE Biden is “the big guy” in for a 10 percent cut in a business deal with a CHINESE energy firm discussed in his son Hunter’s leaked emails, according to a person involved in the talks.
One of the people on an email thread dated May 13, 2017 and obtained by Fox News told the network about the “remuneration packages” for six people in a business deal with now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Company. A source on Hunter’s emails say ‘the big guy’ refers to Joe Biden
The email identifies Hunter as “Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC” and includes a note saying “Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate.”
One of the people copied on the email spoke with Fox News and confirmed its validity, with the source identifying “the big guy” as Joe Biden.
Of course. The biggest suckers in world are American tax payers. I can’t believe stupidity of Americans to vote for democrats and Biden. Irony is those democrat voters are hurt the most by Biden’s policies.
The callousness with which Western Europe’s 1%ers threw away lives in WWI explains why that same territory was a relative sideshow to WWII; the local populations were so cynical they would never endure that again (most of the action was on the Eastern Front and in Asia). Allied troops landing in France in 1944 (particularly the British) were shocked at the relative comfort in which French civilians were living (in comparison to the rationing in Britain).
The civilian populations of those Western European countries most heavily impacted by WWI knew they were just pawns in a war between much larger forces.
Which is why Bolshevism had so much support, people believed in the message of "Peace, Land, Bread", and Europe came damn close to being swooped up in a Bolshevik Revolution across the entire continent.
By the time WWII rolled around enough had happened to convince Western Europe that Bolshevism was terrifying; the mass murders perpetrated by the Soviets in Ukraine and Spain in the 1930s were well-known (even if underreported or unreported in the US). That is why Nazism was an acceptable alternative to so many, and why so many Eastern Europeans joined the Axis war against the USSR (and why many Ukrainians initially greeted the Axis as liberators).
But in 1919, “Soviet” Republics were popping up all over in Europe, in Hungary and Germany.
Right - and the populations of many European countries opted for strongmen to oppose them. Hitler wasn’t the first; Mussolini was in the early 1920s (with the cooperation of the king, who retained his throne). Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Finland - many accepted military governments to protect them from the communists.
Growing pains had to be expected after the break-up of the old Empires.
Absolutely; I understand what caused it to unfold.
In the end (in a manner eerily reminiscent of today’s US), those people seeking to retain some semblance of their cultural and religious traditions understood the dangers posed to them and their way of life by the left.
I want one.
