Putin's commanders have begun quietly fleeing Crimea as they try to sell their homes and get their families back to Russia, Ukrainian spies have claimed.
Russian FSB agents and those working for the occupying government are also trying to get off the peninsula, which has been occupied by Kremlin forces since 2014.
Officials have been spooked by the rapid advance of Ukrainian forces across the north of the country in recent days, the military intelligence service added, amid reports that soldiers are withdrawing from Melitopol - just 70 miles away.

Food stamps for the military were available before your time in service, during your time in service, and after your time in service.
In the late 80’s the Soviet Union was nearing economic collapse and was not in any position to do anything about German reunification.
And you want to risk a nuclear conflagration over Ukraine of all things? What is wrong with you people, you can’t possibly be that stupid.
I wonder just how much agitprop Biden bots and Zeepers have peddled here from Daily Mail amd others while they accuse those of debunking their nonsense as peddling Russian propaganda?
That was weird, how was all that lying relevant to what I posted to you?
Sorry, I overly read your post, I thought you were telling me what I thought about nuclear war.
It does seem that you see submission to Russian orders and invasions as required, or they might destroy the world.
Russia isn’t going “back home” any more than the US would back off if an adversary set up shop in Mexico with a military presence.
Ukrainians have been eating the dirt since they became independent.
Submission to Russia? We are the ones who provoke them into this war. You apparently don’t understand what is going on here.
Exactly. These people are mad fools. I’ve never thought I would see the day when people would advocate a nuclear exchange. I guess they think they’ve been promised a seat in the bunker. Fat chance on that and lasting in the long haul.
Have you seen the US economy lately? If it keeps heading the way it is we'll be envious of their luxurious cabbage based meals.
I agree with Trump, if Putin doesn’t quit constantly saying the “N-word” then move our submarines into position and tell him to end those threats.
There won’t be a nuclear exchange. Ukraine doesn’t have any nukes. So if there were to be a nuclear strike, it would only be because Russia attacked with nukes after spending months pounding cities into dust with conventional artillery.
But, frankly, I don’t think it will happen. If Putin ordered a nuclear strike, his officers would remove him from power. Its probably getting close to that anyway. One more loss like Kharkiv might just do it.
The Russians have had a naval base in Crimea since 1783.
\ Enough of this ridiculous horse manure.
Yeah well Trump also raised the question as to why nobody was talking about peace negotiations. This whole thing never would have happened if Trump was in there, and I think that was the MAIN reason they wanted him out.
Zelensky to Russia...
News flash. An adversary has ALREADY set up shop in Mexico with a military presence. It is called “the Mexican drug cartels”.
They have already wrested control of much of Mexican real estate and most of what is laughingly known as our “southern border”, moving at will and with swift precision to maintain their presence.
And still the US backs off. Wouldn’t be “prudent”, doncha know.

Surely, if Chris is an expert on Camel Botox, he is an expert on Ukraine!
... at least to ZEEPERS
Well that’s another story and I didn’t go there because I didn’t want to derail the thread. But yes I do feel it a great threat on many levels that we are allowing this crazy stuff to happen on our southern border.
