The idea of retreating in such a way as to lure enemies into traps is not new. In fact that was one of the most basic strategems of Mongol cavalry groups and you would have encountered it within the first few pages of the operational handbook for Mongol commanders.
One of the classic examples of the idea was the Battle of the Kalka River which occurred in the Donetsk region of Malorossiya (I'm starting to choke on the idea of calling that place "Ukraine")in late May of 1223. That's right, eight months shy of exactly 1000 years ago. Basically, a Mongol expeditionary force of around 25,000 horsemen totally butchered a much larger combined force of Kievan Rus and Cumans.
People are supposed to learn from their mistakes... In fact, most decent people would be ashamed of being idiots but real idiots are usually proud of it. Take the Ukronazis for example. They apparently take so much pride in having been victimized by Subutai and Jebe the way they were at Kalka, that they have taken the extraordinary step of RE-ENACTING the disgrace first at Kherson and now on a larger scale around Kharkiv. They apparently didn't even want to wait the extra eight months, being more concerned that the opportunity might slip if they didn't do it now.
And with what forces in the area are the Russians going to trap the Ukrainians with?
For starters, the Russian AirForce, which is just across a nearby border from Kharkiv...
An excellent ploy, too, leaving behind all your troops and equipment.
You mean that Russian Air Force that has been missing in action, or else can't keep it's planes in the air, Comrade Ganeemead?
Video shows Russian fighter jet crashing after takeoff in Crimea
There actually has to be a trap for there to be a trap.
That turns out to be a big lie...
When will this trap close? When does it have to happen to be successful?
fyi, Battle of the Kalka...
The same Air Force, which despite outnumbering the Ukrainians, has not been able to keep air superiority over the battlefield?
I should also note that aircraft alone cannot stop ground troops.
LOOOOOL this screed is hilariously delusional. Ukraine is stupid for sending the Russians fleeing with a successful offensive?
Cope much?
“the Russian AirForce, which is just across a nearby border from Kharkiv...”
And which will be afraid to attack as the Ukrainians move their air defenses forward to the new lines.
The naysayers who insist Russia will turn this around may want to consider a few questions.
#1. What Russian forces are available? Russia has not started a general mobilization. They would have to draw forces from positions inside Russia and redeploy them, and then try to integrate them into a confused combat zone.
#2. How fast can they get to Ukraine? Russia does not have Star Trek transporters. They will use planes and trains and that will take time Russia does not have.
#3. How is Russia going to support them? Russia is considered to have a hard upper limit of 180,000 to 200,000 soldiers it can deploy to Ukraine, no more. Everything sent to Ukraine must be supported.
#4. Who is going to lead the Russian response? Russia has no central command. There is a split leadership between Northern and Southern commands. The Russian army has no NCO corps and limits initiative by lower ranking officers. The Russian command, control and leadership are making the rout worse for them right now.
#5. What is the plan that is supposed to come together? For Russia to turn this around would be a miracle of military science. No one has stated what that is or any part of it yet.
For all the talk of Russia will turn this around no one has a clue how it is even possible, including the Russian army.
FYI, hohos and Kalka...
Zelensky in Izium today
I suspect Russians must have some motive for wanting to keep the little perv alive. They could have killed him any time they wanted.
It was all brilliant plan by Comrade Glorious Leader Vladimir P
All Russian troops and equipment left behind to fool Ukranizos and stupid Yamerikans.
All felling for it
Rossiya stronk!!
