Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb calls him ‘deeply wounded narcissist’ who acted in ‘criminal’ way to overturn Biden win

Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb called ex-President Donald Trump a “deeply wounded narcissist” who acted in a “criminal” manner when he pushed then-Vice President Mike Pence to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.

In a new interview, Cobb also said Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, while a mob of his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol, could — at least theoretically — lead to him being barred from seeking the presidency.

“There is a simple way to disqualify President Trump,” Cobb told CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett in an interview on “The Takeout” podcast.

“He clearly violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution’s Article III when he gave aid and comfort and three hours of inaction with regard to what was happening on the grounds of the Capitol,” he said.

“That clearly gave aid and comfort to the insurrectionists,” said Cobb, who added that a joint declaration by both chambers of Congress could on those grounds block Trump from being able to regain the White House.

I think the riot scared off the senators who were co-sponsoring the contests. Have to look at all the facts in the record and get a timeline on that.

But I think that was the purpose of the riot, and why the antifa, blm and fed operatives were stirring up things, and why the capitol police let down the barricades and told demonstrators to go in.

It was re-surfaced on A7 and CNBC again, then. That itself speaks volumes.

He’s insane. He’s talking about insurrection but he’s suggesting the Congress should ban a presidential candidate.

And what is with lawyers being allowed to speak against the interests of a former client?

This is silly stuff, that taking 3 hours to act somehow makes you complicit in events.

He might as well say 3 minutes. Three hours for a president to figure out what to do is hardly a crime.

It’s like on 911 the democrats said Bush was a coward because the secret service didn’t return him to Washington for several hours.

Any direction he turned, there was somebody with a knife out behind him. And every last SOB of them had the same characteristic: Flashy veneer, glib liar, and the MSM loves ‘em.

I never had a lawyer run his mouth about me. It appears every lawyer Trump hired also has deep state conflicts of interest.

“ This is silly stuff, that taking 3 hours to act somehow makes you complicit in events.”

He issued 2 tweets during this 3 hours for the protestors to stand down. Sine the SS wouldn’t let him personally address the crowd what else could he do?

See Post #18. The issue isn’t the Constitution. It’s the Electoral Count Act of 1887 that is a major problem.

If it was illegal to challenge electors, then why try to change a law thar permits challenging electors.

More than that, isn’t it crazy to make it illegal to challenge a falsified election?
Isn’t it stupid to let the results of a known falsified election stand?

I don’t agree with his former attorney on many things- however, Trump didn’t issue any statement for 3 hours while the rioting was going on at the Capital. He should have come out immediately with a statement condemning it when it was happening and got out of control(on purpose with plants).

His first mistake was not to hold the rally on day of certification. He had not learned his lesson that the deep state would set him up. Boy did they ever. Trump supporters are paying heavy price for that day. Homes raided, phones taken, people arrested, in jail, losing their jobs, homes, families torn apart. The rally should have been held on another day when Congress was not there.

I knew when he was holding that rally that deep state, Anitfa, Pelosi, etc would turn into a violent riot and would blame Trumpsters, Trump for it all.

I disagree. Trump should have made a statement right away when things went south. He was the President, he had a duty to say something to make an attempt to tell his supporters not to enter the capital, not to go there, period. I saw it happening and I was like where is the President and his statement. His own people were telling him to make a statement. He refused. He sat and watched on TV instead. The longer it went on, the worse it got for his supporters. Woman was beaten in a tunnel during those 3 hours of silence by capital police. People are paying high price now for those 3 hours of silence. Had he taken a few minutes to tell his supporters not to go there, he might have saved them from being jailed, arrested, raided, harassed, pursued, by the deep state.

His statement could have been I had ordered 10K national guard troops to protect the capital. It was denied by both Sgt of Arms of Capital and Pelosi. Pelosi has sole responsibility for the protection of Congress members at the Capital. Do not go to the capital, do not enter the Capital.

How about going after Twitter which deleted his message telling the protesters to go home.
