Do they pick up the check after dinner?

They’re also on average more intelligent, as conventionally measured. This has been a recognized trend for almost as long as IQ tests have been used.

While there are certainly exceptions, my experience tells me that single, child-free women are terribly unhappy people. They may have money in their bank accounts, but they are miserable.

Life has more to it than just a dollar value. Pretty shallow thinking here.

More money for them to take care of more cats later on, while they ask “where have all the good guys gone” who don’t want “well-traveled” women, while they are out of hypergamous options.

it takes about $286,000/year to raise two children in the US according to the USDA as reported by Bankrate

What a load of donkey snot!

No shit Sherlock. They are also miserable, empty souls.
I personally know a few of them.

On the other hand, working men who stay married with children have less money than other groups.

How's that genius?

We are only now just entering the stage where the first of these same single, child-less, career women are retiring, or in their dotage.

Any stats or commentary on that?

What I’ve noticed about older childless women is one day they realize the mistake they made. Without all those work relationships, they’re suddenly damned lonely. I can’t recall who said it but, “nobody on their death bed whispers, ‘I wish I’d spent more time at work.’”

“$286,000/year to raise two children in the US according”

What are those kids doing, vacationing in the Alps or the French Riviera all summer long?

Dining in fine restaurants every night of the week?

That means a couple would have to clear more than $500,000 per year if all four were to live comfortably.

This number can’t be right. I know couples who are both physicians and they don’t make that.

it takes about $286,000/year

Almost certainly an error.

Probably $286,000 to raise them to 18 years old.

Or, they are assigning high wages to the immense time spent caring for children.

Single, childless women are a threat to society as a whole.

They make up the core of people supporting wokeness, animal rights, socialism, and other society killing illnesses.

I don’t care.

I am happy my wife decided to get married to me.

My girls got married to nice guys.

Aside from that, I don’t care what other women do. We are a free society.

This article is so poorly written and constructed that it's no wonder most Freepers never bother to read the article before commenting.

Journalism is dead in the US.

There is no doubt that childless single women are wealthier on the whole than their child-rearing counterparts. No study is necessary to draw that conclusion. Are they happier though?

Richer financially, I suppose.

That’s about it, though. My husband and my children (and grandchild) make me one of the richest women around!

Propaganda.

That's ridiculous. The average household income in the US was $67,521 in 2020.

If this were true, about 0.1% of households could afford to have children.
