Kids are expensive and single, child-free women are taking note.
New data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis showed that single women without kids pocketed $65,000 more in wealth in 2019 than single, child-free men, who has an of $57,000. Single mothers, on the other hand, had only $7,000.
This is unsurprising since on average, it takes about $286,000/year to raise two children in the US according to the USDA as reported by Bankrate. These staggering figures, along with improved sex education and more financial independence among women, may correlate to the drop in US births.
*Based on Census Bureau historical data and Morgan Stanley forecasts, 45% of prime working age women (ages 25-44) will be single by 2030—the largest share in history—up from 41% in 2018. Single women are expected to grow +1.2% annually from 2018-2030 compared with +0.8% for the overall U.S. population (Female Population Projection, Index 2010=100)

The article is from Essence, so I take it they are in favor of black women continuing to abort their babies.

The bar thing may not be the best way to meet somebody worth your love. Many people do well with introductions from trusted friends, in the workplace, or at church or in an activity that brings compatible people together. I know my husband dropped some real cash dating me, but he already knew I was a reasonable prospect— the kind you take home to meet the folks. But we also did some really cheap dates (a hike, a home-cooked meal).
Sorry I got too wordy. I just feel our culture has made a mistake in pushing the bar scene as a place to find a mate.

That is because single, child free women are smart enough, and strong enough, to not get involved with single and child free men!

Aren’t as many real men to choose from. Remain Single and wealthy or marry queer eye and support him and his loony causes.

These days, with rents, house prices and costs of having children so high, they work under the threat and fear of homelessness. That's what I've heard from a few. They're also afraid of the kids being taken away after misunderstandings or lured into drug addiction during their teens (very common).

While there are certainly exceptions, my experience tells me that single, child-free women are terribly unhappy people. They may have money in their bank accounts, but they are miserable. When you're facing old age all by your lonesome, it can be scary. I'm fortunate - I have a large extended family. As an example, one of our family friends never married, no children, her one sibling passed away. She has no one ... but us.

“What I’ve noticed about older childless women is one day they realize the mistake they made”
That’s one of the most callous and uncaring remarks I have ever read on this website. A childless woman considers herself a barren woman for her entire life and it’s the saddest thing that they could ever have imagine and it happened to them. Some of the saddest women I have ever talked with were childless, through no fault or choice of there own.
There are more of these lonely souls than you obviously could ever imagine.

LOL. Sure they are. Until they reach age 60 and suddenly, they can't command the high salaries anymore. Then they reach 65 and suddenly, their friends start dying. Then they reach 75 and realize no one wants to be around them--their nieces and nephews have all moved away. Then, they reach 80 and realize that they'll have to pay through the nose to have someone take care of them. Then, they reach 85 and they die alone in their empty house or unloved in a nursing home.
Sounds like a sweet life, doesn't it?

I work with about 80% women and can tell you that you are absolutely right.
Same here. The amount of mental illness in that cohort is off the charts.
