I don’t know if the purpose of GQ‘s profile of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was to make its subject look like a whiny, cartoonish, spoiled, self-indulgent mediocrity, but that’s certainly the effect it had on me. At no point during the interview, it seems, did it occur to either the writer, Wesley Lowery, or his interviewee that the core problem that AOC faces is AOC — not other people. Take this line, for example, which represents just one part of a rambling, embarrassingly pseudo-eloquent answer to the question of whether, one day, she might be elected president:
People ask me questions about the future. And realistically, I can’t even tell you if I’m going to be alive in September. And that weighs very heavily on me. And it’s not just the right wing. Misogyny transcends political ideology: left, right, center. This grip of patriarchy affects all of us, not just women; men, as I mentioned before, but also, ideologically, there’s an extraordinary lack of self-awareness in so many places. And so those are two very conflicting things. I admit to sometimes believing that I live in a country that would never let that happen.
The reason that it is unlikely that this country will “let” AOC be president is not that she’s a woman. It’s that she’s a dimwitted socialist. This country is also not going to “let” Marjorie Taylor Greene be president. That’s not patriarchy; it’s taste. In his next paragraph, Lowery gets quite close to understanding this, but then swiftly backs away from the implications of his own words:
Even were she theoretically to become president, then what? She’d face a system—from the Senate to the Supreme Court—both empowered and inclined to thwart her most sweeping ambitions.

I'm speechless. I am without speech.
She needs to go back to what she does best - sling beers and be a sausage wallet.
The real question will be, can she get higher polling number than Kammy H did in 2020.
She’s got a BIG mouth and nothing of any value ever comes from it.
It’s a real shame that more voters, or people within the media, do not familiarize themselves with older interviews from decades past.
People used to have what they called “thoughts”, They had “ideas”. They could “express themselves” and articulate a thoughtful position on the issues of the day.
But, sadly, all of that has passed us by.
Now we interview 13-year-old girls who think stuff is either super cool or maybe kinda groady.
Her answer to that question reminds me of the contestants in beauty contests when it comes to the Q&A segment. Many of them have to make up their answers as they go, with no idea what the question really was or it was beyond their knowledge, or had to appear intelligent while screwing it all up.
AOC is the least intelligent idiot within the democratic party. ;)
“If anyone else in politics had told a friendly journalist that they were not positive that “an intercultural, interracial relationship would be the right fit” for them, it would have yielded a hurricane of criticism”
She’s a White “Hispanic”, Jim.
Is Spanish her mother tongue?
I’ve always thought that her biggest problem was that she was still breathing.
The woman was plucked from obscurity by the same types who plucked Obama from obscurity...because she’s young and somewhat good looking. In Obama they at least got a reasonably intelligent, well spoken fellow with superficially impressive credentials. With Cortez they got a low IQ bartender. Of course, today’s Dem Party seems to value stupidity above all else.
Nothing of value ever did come out of that mouth.
And until the Patriarchy discovers how serious, valuable and deserving she is of respect and higher office, she’ll keep doing make-up tutorials on Twitter.
It’s tough when everyone wants to date you.
“groady” (or “grody”) dates you. And further back than you think.
I tried using it with my daughter (now mid-20s) and I was left in no doubt.
New Yorkers don’t have thoughts when it comes to political parties. They have feelings. And their feeling is that Republicans = bad and Democrats = good. So they elect a smug self absorbed dimwit with a monstrous ego because she’s a Democrat. And since New Yorkers look down on everyone west of the Hudson as being far inferior to themselves they want to export their love of government and hatred of freedom to the rest of the country. They’ve been doing this via their elected representatives for at least 70 years
Spanish is her mother tongue, but she has no education in it, and she is fairly clumsy in it sometimes. Its certainly good enough to travel and live in Spain I’d say, but not to be a TV talking head. She needs conversation classes.
This is a Telemundo interview where she says as much. Apparently the first time she was interviewed in Spanish.

You will find a very few other cases of her speaking Spanish.
I can’t even tell you if I’m going to be alive in September.
There it is she’s has cooties.
What she has is called Paranoid schizophrenia.
What does he have against MTG?
Steal tips
AOC’s biggest problem is that she truly believes she is much smarter than she really is.
