IN HIS FINAL days in the White House, Donald Trump told top advisers he needed to preserve certain Russia-related documents to keep his enemies from destroying them.
The documents related to the federal investigation into Russian election meddling and alleged collusion with Trump’s campaign. At the end of his presidency, Trump and his team pushed to declassify these so-called “Russiagate” documents, believing they would expose a “Deep State” plot against him.
According to a person with direct knowledge of the situation and another source briefed on the matter, Trump told several people working in and outside the White House that he was concerned Joe Biden’s incoming administration — or the “Deep State” — would supposedly “shred,” bury, or destroy “the evidence” that Trump was somehow wronged.
But both Trump and his former Director of National Intelligence have hinted that Russia-related documents could be among the materials the FBI sought. “I think they thought it was something to do with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax,” Trump said during a Sept. 1 radio interview. “They were afraid that things were in there — part of their scam material.”

Psst CIA, FBI, DOJ: Putin has the documents. Russia, Russia, Russia!
“Rolling Stone”
Barr has the documents.
Or Sessions.
Or Comey.
They’re losing their minds because they can’t find the documents that implicate them, which they believe belong to them.

“Trump’s concern about preserving the Russia-related material is newly relevant after an FBI search turned up a trove of government documents at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence”
If true, what could possibly be the explanation for waiting until now to leak this justification for retaining documents? This, if real, would flip the entire left-wing narrative but, inexplicably, was not made.
More, the allegation if timely made would have made it much more difficult for the feds to disappear the documents, as many on this thread allege to have happened. Why wait until now?
If true why would Trump tell anyone what he was doing?
If that’s true then why did they let Trump have them in the first place?
So what of the non Russia Gate documents?
They grabbed other things for cover and to see if tehy could find a case.
“Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” — The Biden regime
Trump, as the CinC, has authority over all classified documents. [Not that the Deep State believes that. I’m sure they have a “Never, Ever let Trump see This” Classification.]
1. The FBI searched the safe at the home, and it was empty.
2. They found a bunch of folders with “classified” markings on them — and they were empty.
I’m getting more certain by the day that Donald Trump has been playing the DOJ/FBI for months.
Why wait til now? Maybe he’s making it up as he goes? Creating a story for the latest disclosure?
Sounds to me they just grabbed stuff with no rhyme or reason.
In the meantime, many Americans’ lives are going to be destroyed because those in charge will *never* be punished.
Maybe the DOJ knew it was checked by the judge’s special master order so that it would not be able to wage “Lawfare” in the media against Republicans before the November election.
Figuring that appeal would consume so much time that would put them past the election for political effect, the DOJ decided to raid 35 homes.
I do not fall into the camp that believes Trump is playing eighth dimensional chess.
I don’t know about “eighth dimensional chess,” but after everything I’ve seen since 2015 I have concluded that Donald Trump is probably the shrewdest, most calculating public figure I’ve ever observed in action.
