Um, yes it does. It is precisely her personification of certain ideals of duty, selflessness and dedication that is so attractive to us. We have sadly few politicians now who exhibit those attributes; but we vaguely recall them and how very valuable they were to us, from our past.
(On the other hand, they did get 'familiarity' right. I said to my husband tonight that we always knew that she would die someday - but we didn't believe that she would.)
