How working-class voters of color can seize the midterms for Democrats
The Hill ^ | 09/09/2022 | MELISSA MORALES

On Aug. 2, I watched as a majority of voters in the county where I grew up (Seward County) in rural Kansas — a county that went for Trump by 29 points in 2020 — voted against the proposed constitutional amendment that would allow for an abortion ban. Statewide, voters rejected the ban by a stunning double-digit margin.

I am part of a new generation of Latina leaders in Democratic politics, and there’s buzz in progressive circles about that vote in Kansas. It boosted optimism for the 2022 election, with good reason — if we understand the right lessons.

They wanted to say "working voters" but Biden robbed them of their jobs. So now they're reduced to "working class".

BTW, what color are they referring to?

"working-class voters of color"

Gee, are you sure you can't break the electorate down into any more categories than that?

These people are absolutely despicable.

The Hill is full of hacks pretending to be comedians. All Democrat cheerleading all the time.

I hope they keep thinking this. The Kansas amendment was craftily obtuse and poorly worded. Some people probably read it as the opposite of what they voted for. Also, in general people tend to vote against changes in constitutions as a matter of principle.

How working-class voters of color can seize the midterms for Democrats

One is no longer allowed to say "Black people;" one must rather say "People of Color (POCs)". Hence, on can no longer say "Black voters;" one must instead say "voters of color."

So, instead of "Black teachers," it's "TOCs?"

And instead of "Care-Providers of Color," I suppose it's "COCs?!"

Regards,
