Bannon Indicted in NY on Conspiracy, Money Laundering Charges in Alleged Wall Scheme
NBC Chicago ^ | 09/08/2022 | Michael R. Sisak

Posted on 09/08/2022 10:04:51 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Former President Donald Trump’s longtime ally Steve Bannon surrendered Thursday to face state money laundering and conspiracy charges in New York alleging he duped donors who gave money to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Bannon is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

Prosecutors say that while Bannon promised donors all the money they gave would go to building the wall, he was involved in funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to two other people involved in the scheme. The indictment didn't identify those people by name, but the details match those of Brian Kolfage and Andrew Badolato, who pleaded guilty to federal charges in April.

Sounds kind of like the BLM situation - leadership buying plush houses for themselves with donations - which the DOJ and local DAs are apparently ignoring. Or Dem politicians paying relatives - including husbands, I think - huge sums of donated money to manage their campaigns.

“Hundreds of Manhattan residents donated to “We Build the Wall,” prosecutors said.”

I don’t know any of the real facts.
I’m just sick of it all. Billions of dollars are spent to destroy one side.
Probably thousands of New York lawyers donated to the Clinton Foundation. Probably thousands in the entertainment world donated to the Clinton Foundation.
I’m fed up.

When people donate to a charitable cause like this, I think the expectation is about 30% goes to overhead. So if Bannon and the other two kept $1 million out of $25 million for overhead that would be 4% for overhead. I guess I don’t understand why this is a crime especially as the donors didn’t complain/aren’t complaining. But I’ll have to read about it more.

Maybe this isn’t considered a charitable cause—but building a private wall along the Southern border to prevent foreign invaders sounds charitable to me for US citizens!

I call it Winning. Anytime a thief is is brought to justice, it’s a good thing. This guy hs been parading around like his $hit didn’t stink, stabbed Trump in the back via his book and now we learn this liar theif is going to prison...that’s a win in my book. If it turns out he’s clean, that’s a win too. It means the microscope is working as it should.

We have a two or three tiered political "justice" system now.

Complete with open prosecution for the same "crimes" by local, state and federal jurisdictions.

Won't stop until the Legal operatives are stopped.

Sounds like you're an addict to our phony "Justice" system.

See "Memphis" for more details on how our 2-3 tiered "Justice" system actually works.

All true. But the founders did promise 100% toward the wall. Bannon is not accused of taking a salary, as did the ones who cut pleas. Now, covering legitimate expenses might be a gray area... it’s hard to believe Bannon would pull a stunt like filching when he’s always so scrutinized.

Who knows, maybe you’ll be next on the political persecution list. I’ll cheer your demise the same way you cheer an innocent mans demise. You know, innocent until proven guilty and all.

Steve Bannon is amazing. I listen to him every day! Since he was pardoned, he shouldn’t have been indicted. It’s like double jeopardy. . .

I believe it was Stalin who said:

I don’t know any of the real facts.

What's there to know? Bannon has been a leading voice on border issues, and he started a charity to build the wall based on small patriot donors, since the politicians wouldn't do their job.

Worst case, maybe he dipped his finger in the pot to cover his expenses, or maybe took a small cut. In the big picture of protecting our border, that's nothing.

Obviously President Trump didn't see it as a crime, since he pardoned him.

Hate to say it, but the only way this stops is if we fight fire with fire. There are Red states that the left loves to decry, yet spend most of their time in and buy vaca homes in. Prosecutors in those states need to start doing the same thing to the left as the prosecutors in the blue states do to the right.

The difference? Think a lefty is going to avoid the state where their precious vaca home is? No way. They will be there and brought to justice in person.

This guy supports Trump and is non flinching about it. Trump still likes him (re:Pardon) but he and Jared butted heads and he lost out to the Trump family. They are trying to break him with lawfare and shut him up. Won’t work but don’t the Clintons still live in NY? Where is any charges against them or any of the crooked dems?

Political persecution plain and simple. Corrupt DOJ prosecutors going after political enemies with unlimited budgets.
