When people donate to a charitable cause like this, I think the expectation is about 30% goes to overhead. So if Bannon and the other two kept $1 million out of $25 million for overhead that would be 4% for overhead. I guess I don’t understand why this is a crime especially as the donors didn’t complain/aren’t complaining. But I’ll have to read about it more.

Maybe this isn’t considered a charitable cause—but building a private wall along the Southern border to prevent foreign invaders sounds charitable to me for US citizens!

All true. But the founders did promise 100% toward the wall. Bannon is not accused of taking a salary, as did the ones who cut pleas. Now, covering legitimate expenses might be a gray area... it’s hard to believe Bannon would pull a stunt like filching when he’s always so scrutinized.
