The Fiscal Republican is Gone (media lament)
Dailyfreepress.com ^ | 9/7/22 | Katie Harmon

While some of the fiscal Republicans remain in office and continue to work hard in defense of the pre-MAGA Republican agenda by supporting bipartisan legislation, they are largely outshined by election deniers and Trump-endorsed candidates.

Representative Liz Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, just lost her primary to the Trump backed candidate in Wyoming, known as Cheney territory, after taking a stand against former President Trump and fighting to preserve our democracy.

It’s a notable example of just how great the influence of MAGA Republicans in fact is. GOP establishment figures like the Cheneys are being pushed out by MAGA candidates. The traditional Republicans still in the spotlight are few and far between, and when they are, their tenure is threatened.

Although there have historically been drastic changes in this country’s political parties, never has one man commanded such a degree of influence over a party. Who knows if we will see a return to the age of fiscal conservatism, or if MAGA is here to stay, but regardless, this new Republican party is transforming our history with each passing day.

Oh, the media SO miss the "fiscally conservative, but socially liberal" Republicans.

We don't fall for the trick anymore.

They were ALWAYS phonys. Did Boehner or Ryan or McConnell even ATTEMPT to cut ANY spending? No.

The same goes for McCarthy. A weasel that acts like he supports Trump but he’s just another Ryan. Wish he weren’t in line for Speaker.

The “fiscal Republican” was exposed as a complete fraud during the GWB administration.

None of these fiscal Republicans ever gets behind a tariff which is the historical method to raise revenue and to protect US industry. The right wing is just as fake as the left wing.

The Republican Party was the Tariff party at one point.

I would like to be a fiscal Republican except I’d feel like the idiot that pays off the joint credit card every time the other party rings up the bill.

I’ll give you 31,000,000,000,000 reasons why the GOPe is really half the uniparty until they have proved otherwise, and I wasn’t politically active until the Carter days.

McConnell reined Pelosi in at $600/handout.

Trump talked about $2000 and Pelosi then rammed the $1400 top-ups through.

Mitch, a man of little accomplishment, saw his fiscal control work nullified by Trump’s big mouth. A Georgia Senate race was lost too, making the Senate Democrat controlled. Mitch hates Trump as a result.

They don’t get it. Trump is a symptom, not a cause. This is a working class revolt. Get rid of Trump and the people will find someone else to take it to the establishment. This thing is just getting started. The left is under this hopeful delusion that if they can just eliminate Trump, the working class will just fall in line to be good little slaves.

“fiscal Republicans”

Calling Rinos fiscal Republicans is one of the most dishonest narratives of today.

The Rinos assisted in every large and wasteful government expansion in the last 50 years. They helped to sabotage President Reagan and every honest Conservative in government.

The so called “fiscal Republicans” worked with GW Bush to corrupt Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac and create the subprime mortgage disaster.

They helped the Democrats control the budget process and increase wasteful spending.

The so called dichotomy between moral values and fiscal responsibility is completely dishonest. Conservatives support both. Rinos work to undermine both.
