There are far too few workers in the U.S. to meet rising demand, a problem exacerbated by an aging population, low birthrates, and stifled immigration. It could become one of the biggest economic challenges of the next several decades.

Anyone who knows how to do anything really well does not work for a company. rather they work for themselves.
They have stifled immigration of those with a history of western culture and values
Stiffled immigration? The media alternate universe.
Yes, you identified the root cause!
“Stifled immigration?”
What country/planet is this clueless imp writing from?
Yep, stifled immigration. Just, wow! I guess if we build bridges over the river, would that be unstifled immigration? If we have 100 million immigrants, would that be enough?
Dang, people just don’t want to work. We won’t make them work.
I found NO jobs in my field. Fortunately, I have a backup, and currently being interviewed by a couple of potential employers.
As usual, employers are looking at the universal specification: wants everything right now for $1.95 -- which, if I wanted any of those jobs, I'd be looking at 3-6 months of training at a vocational school before having a hope of applying.
"Learn to code" says the "experts." I already know how to code, been doing it for 50 years, but not the right kind of coding that employers want now. Glad I learned how to write: lots more jobs there.
And this right here is why my employer is offering those of us retiring huge bonuses and 20% raises to stay.
That on top of the huge bonuses we all got last year and a 15% raise.
Robots to the rescue? /s
Another consequence of abortion on demand. NOT sarcasm.
I’ve always wondered why we need so many fast food restaurants. I swear there are 5 Dunkin Donuts stores within a one mile radius of my house.
Barron’s is evidently unfamiliar with the concept of automation.
(There are far too few workers in the U.S.)
Yeah, right.
See ya at the bill signing. /W
I’m about to be looking for a new part time job. I actually am OK with what I do but my eyesight is a hinderance.
To attract a large police presence?
the entry level aged also are demanding way more than they are worth because the left is feeding them BS..
I’ve had the help wanted sign out a few times.. people with zero experience doing what I do demanding 40 dollars an hour because that is what they are told is a “living wage”..
my field is where high school dropouts use to go (auto repair and mainly dismantling) but now I get people who can’t pass a drug test (insurance requirement) or are so lazy they are not worth minimum wage.
How about too few people willing to work!
....”40 million people on welfare”....
Well THERE is the workforce!
