More than a dozen states are debating whether to adopt California's plan to ban new gas cars by the year 2035.
Several of the 17 states are likely to move forward with the plan, including Washington, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont. California's restrictions are the strictest in the country, mandating that all new vehicles run on either electricity or hydrogen by 2035.
The mandate is facing fierce pushback in states like Minnesota, where the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association argues the weather prohibits the use of solely electric vehicles.

Newsom is vile.
His closest advisors are communists and lunatics.
Just my takes on it.
So, Gruesome Newsom is now governor of 18 states? That’s a nice gig if you can get it.
Virginia already did when the rats controlled everything two years ago they passed a law saying Virginia will use California laws/standards!
Virginia passed a law under the Democrats linking them to California ‘standards’. The new governor, Youngkin, wants that law gone, but doesn’t yet have the votes (as I understand it).
But I think a reasonable legal case could be made by Youngkin in that no one in Virginia voted to end the sales of gasoline cars, and so that ban should be put up to a vote.
When he not only survived the recall election but had over 60% of the vote, he smilingly spoke to a cheering group of supporters outside:
“Remember, what happens first in California happens later all across America.” (cheers again).
They do not have the infrastructure to support this. Already they are telling people not to charge their cars because it will drain the system. What a bunch of idiots.
I live in Appalachia, there isn’t a charging place anywhere.
People here drive 20 year old pickup trucks, they will never be able to afford a battery car.
That doesn’t account for the raw materials for batteries either.
I think it’s awesome.
More petroleum products for me!
The same language used to describe cancer or a forest fire.
This is why the electoral college must never be removed.

Sounds like GENIUSES to me. They’ve been saying for 50 years that people need to STOP driving personal vehicles...now they’re in the process of pulling that off, DESPITE, probably, 90% of the people still wanting to be allowed to drive their personal vehicles.
Any way one looks at it, pulling this off was PURE GENIUS...as they only had token opposition, and quickly disposed of that.
If your government told you to jump off a brigde......well lately they would. Never mind.
Tough crap on you.
Now, BOW to your commie masters.....sic.
Which is why Younkin should be raising hell about this every day and giving the rats a smack in the mouth each morning along with hammering them about the Monument Ave statue removal and trying to get it reversed. Doesn’t matter whether it can happen or not, the goal is to get the white men who are his core constituency mad as hell every day at the rats and want to kill them. Stop being passive and legalistic.
For any mandate to take hold and to stick around for years, there would have to be one-party rule in the states that issue the mandates, and the White House would have to be occupied by democrats for 2 or more decades in a row.
So, no, mandates were meant to be broken and even killed. That is, unless the mandates become laws that all states had to follow. But then, that would make the mandates unconstitutional, with states’ rights being broken all over the place.
Let the blue states isolate and kill their economies, while the red states continue their economic booms. BTW, the only reason that the national economy has not crashed completely, is because the red states continue to keep the economy from collapsing completely, while the blue states continue to experience economic downturns. It’s the same as when Obama was president, where the only economic growth was in red states, allowing the national economy to experience some growth, albeit, low growth.
Did I read correctly that there aren’t enough rare Earth metals on this planet needed for the batteries to sustain an electric vehicle for every person in California, let along the entire country?

If they do, then when California has a brown-out those states should shut off their electricity. It’s a solidarity thing.
