After Marine veteran Lloyd Muldrow stopped an attack by an armed assailant at a Baltimore bar, police officers thanked him — and then they arrested him.
Now the Good Samaritan credited with saving a man’s life faces up to a year in prison, charged with violating a city ordinance that forbids bringing handguns within 100 feet of a public building, even though he neutralized the attack without drawing his pistol.

I literally laughed out loud over that one being a very long time LOTR fan.
This seems the perfect case to get before SCOTUS.

What is a “public building”? The article doesn’t say. Is it a governmental building? Or is it any building where the public might gather?
If it’s the latter, then even with a permit you had better not leave your house. Because you’re almost certain to pass a store, a restaurant, a gas station, etc. during the day.

The perp did not have to abide by the city ordinance
The President can only pardon Federal crimes. This Marine “broke” a stupid city ordinance.
But the ordinance itself can be declared unconstitutional, like many of the laws and regulations imposed by leftist state and city governments.
True. But the best this Marine can hope for is the DA doesn’t charge him or jury nullification - which seems unlikely in Baltimore.
