Ranked voting is what screwed this up. Republican votes way outnumbered Rat votes, but Rats crossed over after the first vote and split the Republican vote. This is not a harbinger of November in any way.

Yes, the warning is for Reuplican legislatures to not vote for and implement rank choice voting. Dumb Alaska Republicans, including Murkowski did it to themselves.

Donald Trump won 52.8% of the Alaskan vote in 2020.
Don Young, the late Republican incumbent, won with 54.5%. If the Republicans won 60% of the vote this time, it looks like they outperformed. How is Republicans picking up 5 1/2 % in less than 2 years a "warning sign"?????

Never would have occurred without ranked choice voting. Even with Palin’s popularity in the 30s she still would have won had it been a one on one matchup.
